  • Once the installation plan is agreed upon, a separate appointment will be made with you for the installation partner to install the Vodacom Fibre service and required equipment at your home.
Can I take my Vodacom Fibre Broadband service with me if I relocate? Can I take my Vodacom Fibre Broadband service with me if I relocate?

Service relocations will be allowed subject to the availability of fibre infrastructure at the location you're moving to.

If our Vodacom team can provide Internet services at your new location, you'll be offered a service similar to the service you had at your previous location. However, you will incur additional costs relating to the provisioning of the service at the new location.

Please note: If the relocation is to an area without a fibre network, then your current contract may be cancelled without any penalty and you'll remain liable for the cost of the Customer Premises Equipment (WiFi-enabled router).

Terms and Conditions:

Vodacom (Pty) Ltd (“Vodacom”) is running the Vodacom World “30th Birthday MSC Cruise for 2” Competition (the “Competition”) where 30 (thirty) lucky customers stand a chance of winning their share of 1 (one) of 30 (thirty) MSC Cruises for 2 (two) from the 1st of March to 30th March 2024.

All participants during the term of the Competition agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions:

Duration

  1. The Competition is open to all new and existing customers at least 18 years and older from 08h00 on 1st March 2024 to 23h00 on 30th March 2024 (the “End Date”).
  2. The duration of the Competition may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of Vodacom.

Prizes

  1. 30 (thirty) lucky winners stand a chance of each winning 1 (one) MSC Cruise for 2 (two) onboard the MSC Musica on selected 4 (four) night cruise departing from Durban during the 2024/25 cruise season, to the value exceeding R 11 000 (eleven thousand rand) per prize.
  1. Prize inclusions:
  • Accommodation in a Premium Balcony Cabin
  • All meals in the main restaurants and buffet
  • Spectacular entertainment
  • The voucher is valid from 1st March 2024 until 31st October 2024 for use in the 2024/2025 season.
  1. Prize exclusions:
  • Items of a personal nature.
  • Any sightseeing/shore excursions and excursions that are not part of the Holiday Package.
  • Daily drinks
  • Medical and travel insurance.
  • Flights
  • Airport transfers to and from port of departure
  • Mandatory port, service, and insurance charges
  • Application fees for passport and/or a visa, if required.

Eligibility

  1. Only entries received during the Competition period as stipulated in clause 1 above will qualify as potential winners.
  1. The Competition is only open to natural persons (at least 18 years and older). Entries received from business accounts held by legal persons (amongst other Corporates and SMEs, etc.) are excluded from participating and winning in the Competition.
  1. Only entrants who are using SIM cards that have been RICA registered are eligible to win the Competition. Each owner of a SIM card(s) is responsible to comply with South African law by RICA registering their SIM cards.
  1. Employees, directors and agents of Vodacom and all participating stores, their immediate families, life partners, business partners and associates and any person directly involved with the sponsoring, devising, production, management or marketing of this Competition are not eligible to participate in this Competition.
  1. Participants must reside in South Africa and be in possession of a valid South African identity document or permanent residence permit or temporary residence permit valid for a period exceeding 3 (three) months for the Republic of South Africa and valid at the End Date.
  1. In the event that the user of the mobile phone (i.e., the participant in the Competition) is not the person that is responsible for payment of the participating mobile phone account/charges, then the prize will be awarded to the person that is responsible for payment of the participating mobile phone account/ charges.
  1. Qualifying participants must be at least 18 (eighteen) years of age, with a valid South African ID.
  • The winner and his/her partner must reside in South Africa and be in possession of a valid SA identity document and/or a valid permanent residence permit and a passport that is valid for 6 months after the date of international travel.
  • The winner and his/her partner must be eligible to travel, have no criminal warrant, and/or health issues that prohibit them to travel internationally.
  • This prize letter is only valid for the person who won the voucher. MSC Cruises T’s & C’s apply.
  • The voucher is not valid during Peak season cruises or Grand Voyages (Christmas and New Year’s, Easter cruise and South/Northbound Positioning cruises) and select December departures.
  • The voucher cannot be exchanged for cash or transferrable to a third party.
  • The voucher can be combined with an MSC Club Membership discount but cannot be combined with other offers.
  • The voucher is not applicable on any Theme cruises.
  • The prize voucher excludes packages, and should you like to add any packages to your booking, this will be done at your own cost.
  • The prize is redeemable for the 2024 -2025 cruise season.
  • Subject to availability at the time of booking
  • Please note for the prize to be claimed, passenger details are to be provided, or the prize will be forfeited (passengers will not be able to board the ship without a cruise ticket)

Valid Entry

  1. In order to stand a chance of winning in the Competition, -
  • Qualifying entrants must sign up for, or upgrade to, any Qualifying Contract at Vodacom World store during the Competition period.
  1. Participants are allowed to enter multiple times. Each new contract/upgrade will automatically constitute an entry.
  1. Vodacom shall not be liable for any costs incurred by the winners for entering the Competition or in claiming any prizes, where applicable. 
  1. Data transfer speeds are not guaranteed and are dependent on network availability and utilisation.
  1. If a customer takes out a contract or upgrade during the competition period and reverses the contract or upgrade, they will not qualify for the prize.

Prize draw

  1. The winners will be randomly selected after the End Date from all eligible entries who meet all the requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions. Winners will be drawn by randomiser and each entry carries an equal weight within the lucky draw for each of the 30 (thirty) days. The verified winners will be notified within 30 working days after he / she has been selected and verified as a winner.  

Winner Validation

  1. All the information provided or related to this Competition shall be managed, captured and approved by Vodacom.
  1. Vodacom will share personal details of the respective winners, such as name, ID number, contact number, address and passport details with Titan Capital and MSC Cruises, who will notify the respective winners that they have won in the Competition, and you hereby agree to such disclosure as is necessary to effect prize fulfilment.
  1. Vodacom will use reasonable efforts to contact the winners via telephonically OR via SMS on the contact details provided by the participants to participate in the Competition.
  1. Vodacom shall attempt to contact the winners for a period of 2 (two) normal working weekdays after their names have been drawn and verified as winners. The winners will be contacted during normal working hours, between 8 (eight) in the morning and 5 (five) in the afternoon.  Winners will be advised of arrangements in respect of prizes at the time of contacting the selected winners.
  1. Should a participant not be available on the contact details provided during the timeframe stipulated above or rejects, forfeits or declines acceptance of the prize, that person's right to the prize will be deemed to have been waived and the prize will be forfeited. Vodacom reserves the right to then award the prize to the next randomly drawn participant.
  1. The claim for any prize will be subject to security and validation, and Vodacom reserves the right to withhold any prize until it is satisfied that the claim by a particular winner is valid. The selected winners must be able to identify themselves, in a manner determined by Vodacom, as the qualifying entrants to the Competition and have to comply with the required validation procedure, determined by Vodacom, in order to claim any prizes, failing which such winner will forfeit the prize and the prize will be awarded to the next selected qualifying entrant.
  1. Notwithstanding the fact that the prizes vest in the winners immediately upon the determination of the results, in the event that the required documentation from a particular winner has not been received at the agreed cut-off date communicated to the winner, or no effort is made on the part of any of the winners to make special arrangements to meet the deadline set by Vodacom, such prize will be forfeited. Vodacom then reserves the right to award the prize to the finalist that is next in line.
  1. The winners’ name and location will be displayed on https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/shopping/v/competition-winners after a period of 2 (two) weeks subsequent to notification of the winners.
  1. Vodacom shall request the winners’ consent in writing to their image and/or likeness being used and published by Vodacom in connection with the Competition for a period of 12 (twelve) months after they have been announced as winners. The winners may decline the use of their image and/or likeness by Vodacom.

Prize Delivery

  1. Voucher codes will be communicated with the winner via telephone as well as an SMS that will be sent to the winners contact number. This voucher code will be used to redeem the prize via the MSC Call Centre on 011 844 6073.
  1. In order to effect arrangements required for the prize fulfilment in terms of this Competition, Vodacom will share personal details of the respective winners, such as name and surname, ID number, address, contact number and passport details with a Vodacom approved third party agency, Titan Capital, for distribution of the prize items, and you hereby agree to such disclosure as is necessary to effect prize fulfilment.
  1. No prize is transferable or exchangeable and may not be redeemed for cash.
  1. If a winner cannot accept a prize for any reason whatsoever, the prize will be awarded to the next selected entrant.
  1. All risks and ownership of the prizes shall pass to the winners on transfer/delivery thereof and hence all of Vodacom’s obligations in regard to the Competition as well as in regard to the prizes shall terminate.
  1. The winner/s will need to redeem their voucher through the MSC call Centre (011 844 6073).

General

  1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the participant or the promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 ("CPA").
  1. The judges’ decision on any aspect of the Competition including the allocation of the prizes will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  1. In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the Competition and/or the Terms and Conditions, Vodacom’s decision will be final, and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • VODACOM and OnMobile will collect and process personal information when you subscribe to the Service. In this regard and notwithstanding the rest of this privacy supplement, Vodacom will process your MSISDN in order for your subscription to be added to your bill issued by Vodacom.

  • We may also collect anonymous analytics information on how potential customers use the Service in order to improve the Service and troubleshoot. We use a variety of analytics methods including what is commonly referred to as "Big data analytics". Big data analytics are mathematically driven analysis techniques on large and varied data sets (that is why it is "big" data) to uncover hidden patterns and hitherto unrevealed trends. 

  • We use our analytics to, for example:

    • Conduct market research and to carry out research and statistical analysis, including to monitor how customers use our networks, products and services; and

    • Frame our marketing campaigns and determine how we might personalise those.

How we use your personal information

VODACOM and OnMobile processes and discloses your personal information for specific and limited purposes. These include:
 

  • Processing MSISDN / account details to facilitate the subscription to the Service.

  • Processing of personal information to assess and handle any customer queries, to develop and improve our products, services, communication methods and the functionality of the Service.

  • Once registered on the Service, we may contact you to keep you informed about new and existing products and services, competitions, prize draws and other promotions and we may use your personal information to run those competitions, prize draw, events and promotions, only to the extent that you have not, at any stage, objected to receiving such marketing communications.  We will provide you with an opportunity to Opt-Out of any further direct marketing activities at each instance you are contacted. 

  • If you have given your permission, we will also contact you to let you know about products and services of Vodacom Group companies including Vodacom, Vodacom Insurance Company Limited and Vodacom Life Assurance Company Limited products and services and those of other companies which we think may interest you.

  • VODACOM and OnMobile takes the security of your personal information very seriously. We takes every effort to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

  • Our measures include implementing technology, policies and processes aimed at protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of your personal information. We will update and refine these measures on an ongoing basis. 

  • Access to your personal information is only permitted among our employees and agents on a need-to-know basis and subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations when processed by third parties.

How long we keep your personal information for?

We may not retain your personal information any longer than is necessary for achieving the purpose for which your personal information was collected or subsequently processed.  We will keep the personal information for a period which enables us to handle or respond to any complaints, queries or concerns relating to the Service, unless:

  • The retention of your personal information is required or authorised by law.

  • We reasonably require your personal information for lawful purpose related to our function or activities.

  • The retention of your personal information is required by a contract that we enter into with you.

  • You or competent person consent to the retention of personal information relating to a child. 


VODACOM and OnMobile may also retain your personal information for the following reasons:

  • Your personal information may also be retained so that we can continue to improve your experience with us and to ensure that you potentially receive alternative and / or related products or services via the Service.
     

  • We will actively review the personal information we hold and delete it securely, or in some cases anonymise it when there is no longer a legal, business or consumer need for it to be retained.

We have specialised security teams who constantly review, improve, and ensure the implementation of appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, accidental loss, disclosure, or destruction.  We are required in terms of POPIA to notify you and the Information Regulator, if any of your personal information has been compromised.

Communications over the internet (such as emails) aren't secure unless they've been encrypted. Your communications may go through a number of countries before being delivered, as this is the nature of the internet.

We cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised access or loss of personal information that is beyond our control.
We’ll never ask for your secure personal or account information by an unsolicited means of communication. You're responsible for keeping your personal and account information secure and not sharing it with others.

Our website and / or the Service may provide links to third-party websites or services. We cannot be responsible for the security and content of such third-party websites or services. You are therefore required to make sure you read that company's privacy and cookies policies before using or putting your personal information on their site or service.

The same applies to any third-party websites or content you connect to using our products and services.

You have the right to request a record or description of personal information that we hold about you. This includes the right to request VODACOM or OnMobile to confirm, free of charge, whether or not it holds any personal information about you; as well as information about the categories of third parties who have, or have had, access to your personal information. Right to object to use of personal information

You have the right, in certain circumstances, to object to VODACOM / OnMobile processing your personal information. In order for us to provide you with products and services, we are required to process your personal information which is necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract and to give effect to you signing up to the Service and as such the provision of your personal information is mandatory. 

Under certain circumstances, you have the right to object to certain types of processing, including processing for direct marketing (i.e., receiving emails or SMS from us notifying you or being contacted with varying potential opportunities). If you no longer want to receive marketing messages from us, you can choose to opt out at any time.

The Fuse Privacy Supplement

The FUSE is a free news and information based service that is provided by Vodacom (Pty) Ltd ("Vodacom"; "us"; "we"; "our") in conjunction with its appointed service provider Njuice AB (T/A SQUID), a Swedish company with company registration number 556801-9201, ("Njuice") that is based in Stockholm. 

This Privacy Supplement aims to inform you about what kind of personal data that might be processed when you use the THE FUSE News App (the "App Service"), the THE FUSE Web Service (the "Web Service") or THE FUSE News Feed (the "News Feed Service") (together the "Services") and the purpose therefore. This Privacy Supplement is intended to supplement and / or enhance Vodacom's existing Privacy Policy available on its website. This Privacy Supplement may undergo amendments and updates from time to time. If we make significant changes to this Privacy Supplement or changes concerning how we process your information, we will notify you before such a change becomes applicable. 
 

Who we are and legal basis for processing your personal data

The Services have been developed and are managed by our duly appointed service provider Njuice. Njuice is an 'operator' (as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") of Vodacom and will only process personal data under the instructions of Vodacom and / or the applicable regulatory bodies / authorities.

Performance of a Contractual Obligation:

We process your personal data to the extent necessary as a part of our contractual obligation to provide you with the Services. For example, providing you with news within your selected topics of interest.

 

Legitimate interests:

In limited instances, we may process some of your personal data to fulfil both our and your legitimate interests. In this regard, certain sets of personal data will be processed to analyze user behavior to improve and optimize the Services and / or your use thereof. However, in any instance where 'legitimate interests' are used as a lawful basis for processing personal data, we will analyse the impact that such a processing activity may have on you and your rights under POPIA or another applicable law. For example, we have made efforts to minimize the collection and storage of any information derived from your usage of the Services. Vodacom and its appointed service providers do not track the activities taken of a device with a certain IP-address. Instead, each user is assigned a pseudonymized ID which is used to deliver the Services.

 

To the extent that you have provided your consent for the use and storage of your personal data, we rely on your consent for such use and storage of your personal data.

 

We may process your data if it is necessary for us to comply with a legal obligation, for example complying with a court order to disclose certain information.

Types of information collected and for what purpose

Purpose of the processing

In order for the Services to work effectively and to constantly improve same, we will be collecting different kinds of personal data from you to enable us to: (a) administer the Services, (b) help us understand how to improve and optimize the Services in future updates, (c) customize the Services to your interests and needs, (d) reply to you if you contact us with feedback, comments or concerns, (e) provide maintenance and technical support and (f) provide advertising based on your preferred news topics, (g) provide you with more information if we think it necessary.

PLEASE NOTE: As it relates to the provision of the Service, only Vodacom will process your personal data in an identifiable form, while Njuice and / or other duly appointed third parties will only process your personal data in an aggregated non-identifiable format.

 

Information we collect directly from you

We collect the following information from you:

  • Your preferred settings in the Services, such as information concerning the type of news feeds you selected and subsequent amendments. This information is stored dynamically, so as soon as you adjust any settings, the information stored is changed.

  • Any personal data, such as your name, e-mail address, phone number etc. that you provide to us by using the Services' feedback functions.

Information collected via technology

Some information is provided to us by your device when you use the Services. We also collect information on how you interact with the Services.

Information we collect from your device is information such as:

  • Date and time that you downloaded the Services

  • Type of device that you are using and the operating system of that device (i.e., what Android or IOS version you are using)

  • Country and language settings on your device

  • Network type used (including information on network provider or wifi)

  • Application type, i.e., what service you are using, such as browser or widget.

  • What articles you read, save, and share.

  • Time spent when visiting our services and reading articles.
  • When you access our Services for the first time, we use the IP-address or other type of identifiers assigned to your device to create an anonymous ID. This ID is used for communication with the Services and tracking of your usage of the Services, which includes what news topics you are interested in.

Where applicable, we may share information about you with:

  • Companies in the Vodacom and Vodafone Group, located across the globe, including but not limited to in the European Economic Area (EEA), Egypt, India and the US, for reporting purposes and where they are involved in providing products and services that you have signed up for

  • Companies who are engaged to perform services for, or on behalf of, Vodacom Group Limited, Vodafone Limited, or Vodafone Group which companies may be located outside of the borders of South Africa

  • Law enforcement agencies, government bodies, regulatory organisations, courts or other public authorities if we have to, or are authorised to by law

  • A third party or body where such disclosure is required to satisfy any applicable law, or other legal or regulatory requirement

  • Third parties that we advertise with, in order to serve you advertisements online (e.g. Facebook, Google). You can opt-out of this by managing your account / cookie permissions

Social Network Services ("SNS")

Some of the features the Service offers require the connection to SNSs (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.). If you decide to use these features and share an article on any of the SNS connected to the Services, we will provide the requested article to the selected third party SNS provider. Please note that when you share an article on an SNS, terms of use and privacy policies of that particular SNS apply.
 

Transfer of personal data

Our processing of identifiable personal data is primarily carried out within the borders of South Africa.
However, if such transfer is necessary, we will ensure that a similar or materially similar degree of protection is afforded to you as may be provided for under POPIA and or the applicable data protection legislation. 
 

Your rights
  • Right of access: You have a right to access your personal data that we store.

  • Right to erase: You have the right in certain circumstances to request the deletion or removal of personal data, for example if the data collected is no longer needed.

  • Right to rectification: You have the right to ask us to rectify the data we hold if it contains inaccuracies or is incomplete.

  • Withdraw consent: If we rely on your consent to the use of your personal data you have the right to, at any time, withdraw your consent.

  • Right to restriction of processing: In certain circumstances, you have the right to "block" or suppress the processing of your personal data.

  • Right to object: You have the right to know if your personal data is used for direct marketing and you have the right to object to this kind of processing at any time.

  • Right to complain: Certain use of your personal data is based on our or others legitimate interest. You have the right to object to the use of your personal data based on a legitimate interest for reasons which concerns your situation. Moreover, you have the right to at any time object to our use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

Security of information

Security plays a crucial role for us. We are extremely committed to protecting your personal information. We have implemented commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against abuse and loss. Nevertheless, as no electronic method of data transmission and storage is totally secure, Vodacom and its service providers, despite its reasonable efforts to protect the security of your personal information, cannot guarantee its absolute efficacy.

Data Retention

We will not retain personal data longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable law or regulations. Information which has been anonymized may be stored for a longer time. Yet, some information in non-personally identifiable form may still be available for the Services in the archives. Personal data that you provide to us by using the Services feedback function will be erased following a period after the matter has been completed.

Note about children

It is not our intention to collect personal information from users who are under the age of 18. However, if personal information of a child under 18 is collected in our Services and we learn about it, we will attempt to delete all information about the child as soon and effectively as possible.
