1.1. Contract Renewals General Terms and Conditions
1.1.1. The Contract Renewals Terms and Conditions detailed herein are subject to change from time to time.
1.1.2. The Contract Renewals Terms and Conditions are subject to Vodacom Fibre General Terms and Conditions and are available on the following link:
1.1.3. Where there is any conflict between Vodacom Fibre General Terms and Conditions and these Contract Renewals Terms and Conditions, the Vodacom Fibre General Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
1.2. Contract Renewal
1.2.1. A contract renewal is the ability for existing Vodacom Fibre Broadband post-paid customers to renew their subscription-based contracts and consequently extend the term of such contracts for an additional period, at no charge subject to the provisions of clause 1.9.
1.3. Contract Renewal Availability
1.3.1. Contract renewals are available for Vodacom Fibre Broadband customers on both Vodacom Fibre Network and Third Party Networks that have collaborated with Vodacom.
1.4. Contract Renewal Contract Term
1.4.1. When undertaking a contract renewal, a customer will be allowed to renew only to a 12-month or a 24-month contract term.
1.4.2. A customer will not be allowed to renew to a month-to-month as this capability already exists and is automated.
1.4.3. If a customer renews their contract prior to its termination or expiry date, then the new term of the renewed contract will be inclusive of the residual period that remained prior to the expiration of the initial term of the contract. For instance, if a customer wishes to renew their existing 24-month (twenty-four) contract for an additional 24-month (twenty-four) contract, and this renewal is initiated at the beginning of, or during the 22nd month (twenty-second) of the existing contract when there are 2 (two) months remaining prior to the expiry date, such a customer shall have a renewed contract with an effective period of 26-months (twenty-six). The effective 26-month (twenty-six) term consists of the remaining 2 (two) months of the existing contract, which is added to the new 24-month (twenty-four) month period of the new contract term.
1.5. Customer contract eligibility for renewal
1.5.1. The period from which a Vodacom Fibre Broadband contract becomes eligibility for renewal is as follows:
126.96.36.199. From the beginning of month 10 (ten) of an initial month-to-month contract.
188.8.131.52. At the beginning of, or during the 10th (tenth) month of a 12-month (twelve) contract;
184.108.40.206. At the beginning of, or during the 22nd (twenty-second) month of a 24-month (twenty-four) month contract; and
220.127.116.11. At any time for a contract that was moved to a month-to-month contract after the expiration of an initial12 (twelve) or 24 (twenty-four) month contract expired.
1.6. Contract renewal commencement date
1.6.1.Provided that a customer’s contract is eligible for renewal, subject to a customer not requiring a new router, such renewal shall become effective immediately, and the applicable subscription charges for the renewed contract shall be immediately applicable. For instance, if a customer wishes to renew their existing 24-month (twenty-four) contract that has a subscription plan of 100 GB (10 Mbps) charged at R599/month to an additional 24-month (twenty-four) contract that has a subscription plan of 200 GB (20 Mbps) at R799/month, and this renewal is initiated at the beginning of, or during the 22nd month (twenty-second) of the existing contract when there are 2 (two) months remaining prior to the expiry date, such a customer shall have a renewed contract with an effective period of 26-months (twenty-six). The effective 26-month (twenty-six) contract would have a subscription plan of 200 GB (20 Mbps) at R799/month.
1.7.1. Upon the renewal of an existing contract, a customer may elect to retain the use of their existing router, or obtain a new router where it is inclusive in the subscription plan for the renewal contract.
1.7.2 Subject to clause 1.7.1 above, if a customer chooses to obtain a new router, Vodacom shall provide a router that is technically compatible with the network configuration upon which the customer has been connected.
1.7.3 If a customer chooses to retain the use of their existing router throughout the course of the renewed contract, the cost of a new router inclusive in the renewed contract shall be waived from the applicable monthly subscription charges. Such customer is required to notify Vodacom of their choice to retain their existing router at the time that a customer exercises the option to renew their contract.
1.7.4 If a customer chooses to obtain a new router upon the renewal of their contract, the operation of the effective period for the renewed contract shall be suspended until the customer’s Vodacom Fibre Broadband services are activated on the new router.
1.8 Router Warranty
All routers that are made available to customers pursuant to a Vodacom Fibre Broadband subscription plan have a warranty period of 24 (twenty-four) months. Further and additional terms and conditions of the warranty are available at: https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/fibre/vodacom-fibre. Customers are required to familiarise themselves with these specific terms and conditions of the router warranty.
1.8.1 A customer that chooses to retain the use of their existing router beyond the 24-month (twenty-four) warranty period, either on a month-to-month contract or pursuant to a renewed contract, does so at their own risk. Accordingly, should the router, for whatever reason, cease to function optimally, Vodacom shall bear no responsibility for the costs associated with the repair and/or replacement of the customer’s router where the customer had indicated its preference to retain the use of their existing router beyond the 24-month (twenty-four) period of the warranty at the time that the customer’s contract was eligible for renewal.
1.8.2 If a customer opts to use an old router that is already out of warranty or becomes out of warranty during the period of the renewed contract, then the customer can continue to use the CPE out of warranty. However, if the existing out-of-warranty router becomes faulty and ceases to function optimally, then the customer bears the onus to replace the faulty router, at their cost.
1.8.3 A new router will be under warranty from the time the customer is active on the renewed contract until the end of the 24 (twenty-four) months.
1.9 Balance of Contract (BOC)
Should a customer choose to terminate or cancel a Vodacom Fibre Broadband contract before that same contract is eligible for renewal in terms of clause 1.5 above, a Balance of Contract payment shall become due and payable immediately by the customer. The Balance of Contract payment shall be imposed where a renewed contract is terminated or cancelled before such a contract becomes eligible for its own renewal term. The calculation of the Balance of Contract payments shall be as follows:
1.9.1 The total amount shall be based on the payment of the monthly subscription plan charges for the remaining months of the renewed contract, which shall be inclusive of the value of the router.
1.9.2 The BOC will include the activation fee that was waivered when the customer renewed the contract.

1.10.1 Customer Care on 082 1904 will provide support for Contract Renewals.
1.11 Sales Channels
1.11.1 Business partners will do contract renewals on behalf of Vodacom for Vodacom Fibre customers.
