Terms and Conditions:

Vodacom (Pty) Ltd (“Vodacom”) is running the Vodacom “Take the Quiz and Stand a chance to win the ultimate golfing experience” Competition where 2 x individuals, per region, stand a chance of winning a Vodacom Origins experience valued at +-R7000 each.

All participants during the term of the Competition agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions:

Duration

1. The Competition is open to all South African residents over the age of 21 who enters the “Stand a chance to win the ultimate golfing experience” competition that will be running from 8 August 2024 – 1 October 2024.

10. Eligibility

• To qualify for the 2024 Vodacom Origins of Golf Pro-Am, a player must be:
  • A fully paid member of a recognised Golf Club in possession of an official SAGA/Internationally recognised handicap by SAGA.
  • Over the age of 21 years invited by Vodacom. Invitations are strictly not transferable.
• Players must hand in their signed score cards immediately after completion of their round. Players must be familiar with Rule 6-6 of the Rules of Golf (Players' responsibilities) regarding the requirements for the correct completion/submission of score cards.
• Players must tee off the Vodacom markers (Red Tees). No senior tees allowed.
• Unfortunately, due to the seriousness of the event and limited space, no partners are allowed.
• Count outs - In the event that two or more players finish with the same scores, the last best 9, 6, 3 and 1 holes will be counted.
  • Should a tie still exists then the first 9, 6, 3 and 1 holes will be counted.
  • Should a tie still exist, the player with the lowest handicap will win.
  • In the event that a tie still exists, scores will be compared from hole 1 to hole 18 with the player who scores the most points first, declared the winner.
  • Should a tie still exist, the Sunshine Tour Tournament Director will make the final decision.
• Any player who has taken part as a finalist in the Vodacom Origins of Golf Finals in 2022 and 2023 is not eligible to qualify for the 2024 Vodacom Origins of Golf Finals in Oubaai.
• Should a finalist not be available to play in the 2024 Vodacom Origins of Golf Final, Vodacom reserves the right to invite the runner up to play in his/her place. In the event of the finalist withdrawing three weeks prior to the event, the runner up will not be eligible. No finalist or runner up will be compensated in lieu of not being able to attend the National Final.
• The winners of the Vodacom Origins of Golf Regional Events, will qualify to compete in the Vodacom Origins of Golf Finals scheduled to take place in Oubaai Hotel Golf & Spa in November.
• Vodacom staff and their immediate family are not allowed to participate in the competition

4. In order to stand a chance of winning in the Competition, -
   • Participants need to answer a question the quiz on Instagram or Twitter for each region (1 x winner per social media platform). If they get the correct answer, they will stand a chance to win.

Prize draw

8. The winners will be randomly selected on or after the End Date from all eligible entries who meet all the requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions. The verified winners will be notified within one (1) working days after he / she has been selected and verified as a winner.

Winners will be selected at random with the discretion of the Senior Leadership team who has been appointed to act as judges to select winners.

Winner Validation

9. All the information provided or related to this Competition shall be managed and captured by the managing digital agency of Vodacom, Ogilvy.
10. Vodacom will share personal details of the respective winners, such as name and contact number with the Vodacom and Flooid team, who will notify the winner that he / she has won in the Competition, and you hereby agree to such disclosure as is necessary to effect prize
11. Vodacom (and / or ‘Ogilvy’) will use reasonable efforts to contact the winners via direct message on their social media profile, or via a phone call based on the contact details provided by the participants to participate in the Competition.
12. Vodacom (and / or ‘VMLY&R’) shall attempt to contact the winners for a period of 2 (two) normal working weekdays after their names have been drawn and verified as winners. The winners will be contacted during normal working hours, between 8 (eight) in the morning and 5 (five) in the afternoon.  Winners will be advised of arrangements in respect of prizes at the time of contacting the selected winners.
13. Should a participant not be available on the contact details provided during the timeframe stipulated above or rejects, forfeits or declines acceptance of the prize, that person's right to the prize will be deemed to have been waived and the prize will be Vodacom reserves the right to then award the prize to the next selected participant.
14. The claim for any prize will be subject to security and validation, and Vodacom reserves the right to withhold any prize until it is satisfied that the claim by a particular winner is The selected winner must be able to identify himself / herself, in a manner determined by Vodacom, as the qualifying entrants to the Competition and must comply with the required validation procedure, determined by Vodacom, in order to claim any prizes, failing which such winner will forfeit the prize and the prize will be awarded to the next selected qualifying entrant.
15. Notwithstanding the fact that the prize vest in the winner immediately upon the determination of the results, in the event that the required documentation from a particular winner has not been received at the agreed cut-off date communicated to the winner, or no effort is made on the part of any of the winners to make special arrangements to meet the deadline set by Vodacom, such prize will be Vodacom then reserves the right to award the prize to the finalist that is next in line.

General

22. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the participant or the promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 ("CPA").
23. In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the Competition and/or the Terms and Conditions, Vodacom’s decision will be final, and binding and no correspondence will be entered
24. Vodacom may refuse to award a prize if entry procedures or these Terms and Conditions have not been adhered to or if it detects any irregularities or fraudulent practices. Vodacom is entitled in its entire discretion to reject any participant for any reason and will not be obliged to notify participants that they are

Vodacom and/or any other person or party associated with the Competition, their associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors and any of its personnel involved in the Competition, shall not be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage incurred or suffered (including but not limited to direct or indirect or consequential loss), death or personal injury suffered or sustained arising from either participation in the Competition or from claiming the
