Home Internet LTE & 5G is a broadband service offering you fast & reliable connectivity without the hassle of a fixed installation. You get a service that is linked to a single location, for all the data devices in your home, including desktops, laptops, smartphones, TVs and gaming consoles.

How can I get Vodacom Home Internet?

Before signing up for a Vodacom Home Internet LTE or 5G price plan, please check that you have LTE (4G) coverage in your area first where it is applicable (i.e., Home Internet LTE Speed Based price plans). To see if coverage is available in your area, check our Vodacom Coverage Map.

Where can I buy Vodacom Home Internet product?

Vodacom Home Internet LTE & 5G deals are available to purchase in any Vodacom Store. Limited Home Internet LTE & 5G deals are available on the Vodacom website.

What is the time frame for installation?

Vodacom Home Internet LTE & 5G price plans are for data usage only. You will not be able to buy voice or SMS services & bundles on these plans.

How long does it take to activate a home internet connection?

Vodacom Home Internet LTE & 5G price plans are available as 24 month and 36 month deals only and are not available on a month-to-month basis.

What should I do if my service is not working after 24 hours?

If your service is not working after 24 hours try these troubleshooting steps Home Internet Hub | Choose the Right Router Option | Vodacom if this does not resolve the problem please contact the Vodacom call centre on 082 135 or visit your nearest Vodacom Store, and we'll help you troubleshoot the issue.  For us to assist, please have the following information ready

What happens when there is a poor network signal?

Please move your router to a better position, preferably in a window. Keep the router away from obstacles. If you continue to struggle with signal indoors. Consider purchasing a range extender. Smartphone Deals & Devices.

Can I use Voice and SMS Bundles?

Vodacom Home Internet price plans are for data usage only. You will not be able to buy voice or SMS services & bundles on these plans.

Can I top up my Home Internet data?

Yes, the following big data bundles are available to purchase on Vodacom Home Internet price plans; these bundles can be used to top up your data.

How can I purchase the once-off data bundles?

The new ZTE 5G FWA Router supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 access technology, which allows multiple users to access the 5G WiFi network at the same time. This router will give you access to the 5G network in 5G coverage areas. It has substantial WiFi coverage, high speed and low latency, which will give you the best overall user experience.

Can I use my Home Internet router in any device?

This Router is still compatible with our Home Internet 5G plans and is on the Home Internet Approved Routers list.

How do I check that I have the right router?

Vodacom Home Internet price plans only work in the routers featured in the Approved Routers Page.

To check the make and model of your router, look at the sticker at the back of your router or underneath it. To compare your router and check it against the list of Vodacom-approved routers go to:  Home Internet Routers | Buy Now Approved Routers | Vodacom.

You can also use the first 8 digits of the router's IMEI number to check its compatibility

My router is locked to a different service provider. Will I still be able to use it for Vodacom Home Internet?

No, if your router is locked to another service provider, you will not be able to use it on the Vodacom network.

Are the Home Internet speeds guaranteed?

Data speeds are not guaranteed, data speeds changes in relation to network conditions such as congestion.

Can I use the Home Internet price plan as Wi-Fi ’on the go?

No, Vodacom Home Internet price plans are for use in a fixed location. These price plans will not work in mobile routers or devices.

Do I need to change any APN settings on the Home Internet price plans?

Once you purchase a router from Vodacom, your Vodacom Home Internet price plan and APN (Access Network Point) settings are automatically detected and saved. If the service isn't connected within 24 hours, dial 082 135 or visit your nearest Vodacom store to validate that your APN settings are correct.

  1. To ensure that you can set up successfully, please ensure that the PIN to the Data SIM has been removed before inserting it into the router. You can do this by:
  • Removing the data SIM from the starter pack
  • Inserting the Home Internet SIM Card into a mobile device.
  • Navigate to your mobile devices security settings and disable the SIM Pin Lock
     
  1. Once this is done, you can remove the data SIM from your mobile device

Troubleshooting for Connection Issues

Router Admin Interface

  1. The Router Admin Interface will prompt you to enter your username and password. These details can be found on a sticker at the bottom of the Router.
  2. You will be directed to the Nokia Fastmile 5G Gateway main page.
  3. Select 'Maintenance' on the Ribbon.
  4. Toggle to'APN Management' on the menu items that appear on the left of the screen.
  5. Change Profile Name to Vodacom.
  6. Enter the digits: 655 to the MCC field.
  7. Enter the digits: 01 to the MNC field.
  8. Enter the word: internet to the APN field.
  9. Save the changes at the bottom of the screen.
  10. Select 'Security' on the Ribbon
  11. Under 'Firewall', change the Security Level field from 'Medium' to 'Off'
  12. Change the 'Attack Protection' field from 'Enable' to 'Disable'
  13. Save the changes at the bottom of the screen. The Router will automatically connect to the Network.

Alternatively, if you would like to set up your Home Internet Router without removing the SIM PIN, follow the steps below:

Connecting a device

Connecting a Device (e.g. PC): Select the corresponding network name on your devices WiFi settings and enter the password. Connect the Device to your Router -this connection is with no network.

Router Admin Interface

  1. When connected to a PC, an automatic redirect window takes you to the Router Admin Interface/Web UI.

    1. If you are not automatically redirected: you can access the Router Admin Interface/Web UI with the routers Gateway IP address: This is usually indicated at the back/ below the router. For the Alcatel Linkhub HH72v Router, this is the IP Address: http://192.168.1.1

    2. Alternatively, if you are using a mobile device, you can download the Router Manager App in your app store and follow the directions detailed below.

Follow the prompts

  1. Enter the default password: admin

  2. Fill the following information:

    1. Insert the SIM Card PIN in the applicable field.

    2. After insertion of the SIM PIN, the Router will automatically connect to the Network.

As another alternative, if you would like to set up your Home Internet Router on your Mobile Device, without removing the SIM PIN, please follow the steps below:

Without SIM PIN removal

  1. The Router can also be setup by downloading the Router Manager App via the link or QR Code on the back/front of the Router.

  2. Enter the default password: admin

  3. Insert the SIM PIN in the applicable field.

  4. After insertion of the SIM PIN, the Router will automatically connect to the Network.

    Note: following the steps above would require your Data Sim to be correctly installed in the Router, do this by following Step 2 titled 'SIM Insertion & Switching On'.

1. What is Home Internet?

Home Internet is a broadband service that gives you fast, reliable connectivity without needing a fixed-line installation. It connects all your home devices – like desktops, laptops, smartphones, TVs and gaming consoles – through one router and SIM card.

2. How do I know if my area is covered?

Before signing up, check your coverage on our Vodacom Coverage Map. Enter you home address and select the ‘Home Internet’ tab and the speed you want. 

3. Can I sign up for Home Internet online?

Yes, you can! We’ve made it quick and easy to get a Home Internet deal online or at any Vodacom Store. 

4. How long does installation and activation take?

There’s no installation needed – Vodacom Home Internet is a plug and play service. Both the LTE and 5G services should activate shortly after you insert the SIM card into your router. For setup guidance, follow the steps in this Quick Setup Guide.

5. How do I set up my router?

6. What if my service isn’t working after 24 hours or I’m having an issue?

Try these troubleshooting steps  for your specific router model. If it still doesn’t work, call 082 135 or visit any Vodacom Store and have this information ready so we can help you:

  • SIM card cellphone number
  • Router IMEI
  • Home address
  • Home Internet price plan
     
7. What can I do if my network signal is poor?

Move your router to a better position – ideally near a window and away from any obstacles that may be blocking it. If indoor signal remains weak, you may need a range extender which you can get here.

8. Can I buy voice or SMS bundles?

No you can’t, Vodacom Home Internet price plans are for data only.

9. Which once-off data bundles can I get and how do I buy them?

You can top up with 100GB and 200GB data bundles. To buy them, log in to the VodaPay app and follow these steps:

  • Tap the My Vodacom tab at the bottom of the screen
  • Go to the Mobile tab
  • Select your Home Internet number and follow the prompts 

Make sure the filter is set to 30-day validity and pay with a bank card.
 

10. Can I use the SIM card in different device?

No. The Home Internet SIM card won’t work in mobile devices or portable routers. The only exception is using a mobile device to disable your SIM PIN functionality as outlined in the Quick Setup Guide.

11. How do I check if I have the right router?

The Vodacom Home Internet price plans only work in approved fixed routers. To check the make, model and IMEI number of your router, look at the sticker at the back of your router or underneath it. Example: Make: Huawei; Model: B612-233; IMEI: 86344204.

12. What if my router is locked to another network?

If your router is network-locked to another service provider, it won’t work on the Vodacom network.  

13. Are Home Internet speeds guaranteed?

Data speeds may vary depending on network conditions such as congestion .

14. Can I use my Home Internet as WiFi on-the-go?

No. Vodacom Home Internet price plans are meant for a fixed location and won’t work in mobile routers or portable devices.

15. Do I need to change any APN settings?

1 These terms and conditions govern the relationship between You (“You” or “Your”) and Vodacom Proprietary Limited and its affiliates (hereinafter “Vodacom” or “Us” or “We”) regarding Your use of the Streamy service (the “Service”) (“Terms and Conditions”). Use of the Service is also governed bythe Privacy Policy which is incorporated herein by reference.

2 These terms and conditions are subject to the Vodabucks Terms and Conditions available at https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/rewards/vodabucks-store. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between these terms and conditions and the Vodabucks Terms and Conditions, the Vodabucks Terms and Conditions shall prevail. You are advised to review the Vodabucks Terms and Conditions to understand how they may impact the interpretation and application of these terms and conditions.

4 REWARDS & PRIZES

4.1 If applicable and to be eligible for rewards from the Service, You acknowledge that You need to have an active subscription for the Service.

4.2 You acknowledge, understand, and agree that for Your subscription to the Service does not guarantee any prizes or rewards from the Service. We shall not have any liability for such loss or damage while using the Service.

4.3 Where applicable, prizes may not be substituted or transferred. All taxes associated with the receipt or use of any prize is the sole responsibility of the winner. If any legal authority contests the awarding of a prize, we may, in our sole discretion, determine whether or not to award such a prize.

4.4 Rewards can only be earned if You are a Vodacom customer. Any non-Vodacom customers will be unable to earn rewards due to their being active on a different network.

4.5 Only the qualifying Vodacom mobile number that is subscribed to the Service, can earn rewards.

4.6 In the event that You terminate Your Vodacom contract, You accept that You forfeit the use of any unused rewards by that point as well as the earning of future rewards from that point.

VODACBUCKS REWARDS RULES

4.7 Vodacom Streamy rewards, hereinafter referred to as ‘rewards’ are available to all Vodacom customers on either a Prepaid, Hybrid/Top Up or Postpaid/Contract price plan type.

4.8 The rewards will be applicable to customers who subscribe to one or more streaming subscription services on Vodacom Streamy via the Vodacom Streamy mini app on the VodaPay app ONLY (excludes Vodacom Welcome Tones, Cinemagic, WWE and NBA subscriptions).

4.9 The rewards will be awarded in the form of Vodabucks according to the rules stipulated below:

4.9.1 For any 1 (one) subscription the customer qualifies for 5% (five percent) of the total ZAR value of the subscription amount (daily, weekly or monthly) for each successful billing event rewarded in Vodabucks. i.e., if the single subscription amount is R49 (forty-nine Rand) then the customer will qualify for R2.45 (two Rand and forty-five cents) in Vodabucks.

4.9.2 For 2 (two) or more subscriptions the customer qualifies for 10% (ten percent) of the total ZAR value of each subscription amount (daily, weekly or monthly) for each successful billing event rewarded in Vodabucks i.e., if the second subscription amount is R110 (one hundred and ten Rand) then the customer will qualify for an additional R11 (eleven Rand) in Vodabucks and so forth for each additional subscription for the third, fourth etc.

4.10 Customers will not be awarded for trial periods on any subscriptions, only successful billing events post/after any trial periods, respective of streaming partner, qualify for the rewards.

4.11 Rewards will be issued based on the amount of successful billing events on active subscriptions (daily, weekly or monthly) i.e., if a customer has a single R3 (three Rand) daily subscription and pays R3 (three Rand) each day for 31 (thirty one) days, they would be rewarded each day with R0.15c (fifteen cents) resulting in the equivalent of R4.65 (four Rand and sixty-five cents) being awarded in Vodabucks.

4.12 VodaBucks rewarded can either be used in the Vodabucks store or cashed out for ZAR to a qualifying bank account for use anywhere ZAR is accepted in South Africa.

4.13 Vodabucks can be accessed in the VodaPay app and must be banked in order to be used/cashed out before expiry.

YOUR OBLIGATIONS AND ENTITLEMENTS

4.14 Vodacom and/or its appointed Partner reserves the right to determine what conduct it considers to be in violation of the rules of use or otherwise outside the intent or spirit of these Terms and Conditions or the Service itself. We reserve the right to act as a result, which may include, if relevant, suspending the Service, terminating Your registration, and prohibiting You from using the Service. Said suspension, termination and prohibition may occur with or without notice to You, and as a result may involve the loss of any benefits, privileges or earned items associated with Your use of the Service, and we are under no obligation to compensate You for any such losses or results.

5 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

5.1 You agree that Your use of the Service shall be at Your sole risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our officers, directors, employees, and agents disclaim all warranties, express or implied, in connection with the services and Your use thereof. We make no warranties or representations about the accuracy or completeness of the Service’s content or the content of any websites or services linked to these services and assume no liability or responsibility for any (i) errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content; (ii) personal injury or property damage of any nature whatsoever resulting from Your access to and use of the Service; (iii) any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any and all personal information and/or financial information stored therein; (iv) any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service; (v) any bugs, viruses, trojan horses or the like which may be transmitted to or through the Service by any third party; or (vi) any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the Service. We do not warrant, endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any product or Service advertised or offered by a third party through the Service or any hyperlinked website or featured in any banner or other advertising, and we will not be a party to or in any way be responsible for monitoring any transaction between You and third-party providers of products or services.

5.2 To the extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall we or our subsidiaries and affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, owners, agents, employees, representatives and licensors be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, consequential, punitive or exemplary losses or damages whatsoever or for loss of profits (including, without limitation, damages for loss of revenue, loss of data, failure to realize expected savings, interruption of activities, or any other pecuniary or economic loss) and whether arising from breach of contract, damages (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising out of the use of or inability to use the Service or its content, or any product or service described or provided through the Service.

5.3 Save to the extent permitted by law, You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Vodacom from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, liability, losses, costs and expenses (including legal fees and expenses) arising from or related to: (i) any use or alleged use of the Service by any other person, whether or not authorized by You; (ii) Your breach of these Terms and Conditions, including any breach of Your representations and warranties herein; and (iii) Your violation of any law or (iv) Your use of or inability to use the Service, the contents, any hyperlinked website, and any of the products and services made available on the Service thereof.

    • Additional costs(including, but not limited to, extra nights, missed flights or personal expenses) shall be the sole responsibility of the winner.
    • Prizes are non-transferableand cannot be redeemed for cash.
  5. Competition Period:
    The Competition will run from 9th September 2025 – 6th October 2025(inclusive), at participating VODACOM stores around South Africa, while stock lasts. Should stock run out at the participating stores before the end date, no further entries will be accepted from that point.  ("the Competition period").
  6. Agreement to Terms:
    By entering the Competition or accepting any prize, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  7. Eligibility:
    The Competition is open to South African residents aged 18 or older who hold a valid South African Identity Document . You are not eligibleto enter or accept the Prize if:
    • You are a director, employee, agent, or supplier of VODACOM Stores, Honor, or their affiliates;
    • You are an immediate family member or associate of the above.
  8. How to Enter:
    To enter, you must:
    • Purchase an HONOR 400 Lite, HONOR 400 or HONOR 400 Pro Smartphone (while stock lasts) for automatic entry;
    • Retain your Vodacom till slip as proof of purchase.
  9. Winner Selection:
    • Winners will be randomly selected once the September deal-cycle ends ( 7 – 10 working days after 6th October 2025)
    • Winners will be notified by phone on the provided contact number. If unreachable after 2 attempts, the prize will be forfeited.
  10. Winner Requirements:
    Winners must provide:
    • Full names, contact number, physical address, Identity Number, and original till slip as proof of purchase.
  11. Passport and Validity Requirements:
    • The winner and any accompanying traveller must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months after the date of departure. Should either traveller fail to meet this requirement, they will not be eligible to join the trip, and any resulting costs or consequences shall be for their sole responsibility.
  12. Visa Requirements
    • The winner shall be solely responsible for obtaining, at your own cost, any and all required visa(s) to travel to Morocco. Such visas must be obtained timeously prior to departure. Failure to obtain the necessary visa(s) will result in forfeiture of the prize, and Honor shall bear no liability for any costs, losses, or damages arising therefrom.
  13. Liability:
    • Honor shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or additional expenses related to the prize;
    • By accepting the prize, the winner consents to the use of their names and likeness for publicity purposes, unless they decline such consent in writing.
  14. Personal Data:
    By entering this Competition, you consent to:
    • Processing of your personal data for legal, marketing, and fraud prevention purposes;
    • Receiving marketing communications (opt-out available).
  15. Force Majeure
    • The trip may be subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond Honor’s reasonable control, including but not limited to pandemics, natural disasters, war, or government- imposed travel restrictions. In such cases, Honor shall not be liable for any losses or damages that arise.
