Please note: The below features are not an exhaustive list of Terms and Conditions linked to the VodaBucks Rewards Programme and this list is updated regularly.
What is the VodaBucks Rewards Programme?
VodaBucks is our way of rewarding you for being an active Vodacom customer. When you join the VodaBucks Rewards Programme, you can earn VodaBucks every week. Once these VodaBucks are banked, you can then spend them on a range of rewards.
Who can join?
You can join our VodaBucks Rewards Programme if you are on Prepaid, Postpaid or Top-Up to start earning, banking and spending your VodaBucks in the VodaBucks Store. This includes a new SIM card on, or port into, the Vodacom network
By being a Vodacom Business end-user, you are also eligible to participate in our rewards programme, however, you must obtain the required consent, where applicable, from the Vodacom Business account holder. You should also comply with all policies subjected by the Vodacom Business account holder. VodaBucks Rewards Programme shall not engage in any dispute between yourself and the Vodacom Business account holder and where such dispute arises, you will hold VodaBucks Rewards Programme harmless and indemnified accordingly. You will earn VodaBucks when purchasing any qualifying products or services when paying with your credit or cheque card.
Sadly, not all of our Vodacom services are eligible for participation in the VodaBucks Rewards Programme due to the nature of being a behaviour-based programme. The following are excluded:
How do I join VodaBucks?
Joining is easy and there is no joining fee. You can join using these channels:
· Download the My VodacomApp and opt into the programme
· Dial *133# on USSD, select menu option 1 and follow the prompts
Once you have joined, you can start earning, banking and spending your VodaBucks on a range of exciting rewards.
TOP TIP: Remember that by joining our rewards programme, you provide us with permission to monitor your behaviours in order to reward you with VodaBucks for personalised offers and goals achieved.
What if I’m already part of the Vodacom ShakeUp Summer Campaign?
You can join the VodaBucks Rewards Programme at any time. If you have already opted in as part of the Vodacom Shake!Up Summer Campaign, you will need to join the VodaBucks Rewards Programme and Bank your bonus VodaBucks in order to start enjoying exciting rewards.
If you joined as part of the Shake!Up Summer Campaign, any VodaBucks you earned up to 27 July 2020 will expire. BUT, don’t worry, we’ve given you a boost with some bonus VodaBucks to get you started with our new rewards programme which launched on 28 July 2020. Hurry though, bonus VodaBucks need to be banked in order for you to spend them on amazing rewards, otherwise they will be reset to zero by end of August 2020. These bonus VodaBucks will have a 12 month validity from the date of banking. Any new VodaBucks earned through the new VodaBucks Rewards Programme (from the 28 July 2020) must be banked in line with the banking rules.
What if I change plans or want to leave the programme?
You will retain your VodaBucks when you migrate to a different price plan, but you will have to re-join the VodaBucks Rewards Programme in order to access, use or earn more VodaBucks.
We would be very sad to see you leave however you can do so by opting-out any time via the My Vodacom App or USSD.
When migrating to a different plan or opting out, you will lose out on earning VodaBucks for achieving your goals BUT we will keep the following safe for your return:
· All VodaBucks collected as part of the VodaBucks Rewards Programme however you will not be able to use your VodaBucks in the VodaBucks Store or to play a Mega Shake unless you decide to re-join;
· All GSM and non-GSM rewards you’ve already won will be available for use;
· Any entries you have for the Grand Prize draw will be eligible for the draw period in question.
You will still receive engagement communications regarding the VodaBucks Rewards Programme, unless you choose to opt-out of receiving SMSs from our rewards programme.
Vodacom values you and, as such, you will still qualify to participate in all other Vodacom promotions outside of the VodaBucks Rewards Programme.
What is a Daily Shake?
For being active on the Vodacom network, we’ll reward you with a free Daily Shake. Daily Shake is a game of chance where you get to enjoy a variety of rewards with increased chances of winning big.
If you win, you will receive an SMS notification when your prize gets allocated successfully. Daily Shake games will differ daily as well as by channel (My Vodacom App and USSD).
Playing the free Daily Shake will be zero-rated (free) on all channels: My Vodacom App and USSD.
TOP TIP: Free Daily Shake games only last until the end of each day (23:59 on the day of allocation) and will expire if not played.
UPSIZE YOUR PRIZE: You will be offered the ability to upsize some of your prizes by adding a bundle at a discounted price. Your prize will be allocated for free, regardless of whether you choose to upsize your prize or not.
Who gets to Shake?
Every Vodacom customer (including Prepaid, Postpaid and Top-Up) who has joined the VodaBucks Rewards Programme will receive a minimum of one (1) free Daily Shake on USSD or two (2) free Daily Shakes when using the My Vodacom App which can be used to win a variety of prizes.
I’m on Prepaid, how do I earn VodaBucks?
You will earn 1 VodaBuck for every R10 spent with Vodacom and can earn VodaBucks on every voice, data or integrated bundle purchased from Vodacom. The allocation of VodaBucks will be for primary purchases only, e.g. you can earn VodaBucks on airtime recharge but not for converting or transferring airtime to bundles. Integrated bundles and data purchases earn you VodaBucks.
You will earn VodaBucks instantly as you recharge. For other behaviours (non-transactional) that earn VodaBucks, these will be allocated within 72 hours.
I’m on Postpaid, how do I earn VodaBucks?
You will earn VodaBucks on the successful payment of your monthly bill to the amount of 1 VodaBuck for every R10 of money successfully collected from the monthly bill. This bill settlement is on mobile spend. Fixed, Cloud, FTTH and Digital Service revenue will be excluded – only mobile spend will earn VodaBucks.
VodaBucks allocation will happen once a month upon successful bill payment. All credit/debit card purchases will be allocated instantly. For other behaviours (non-transactional) that earn VodaBucks, these will be allocated within 72 hours. In case of credit or debit card purchases, the number that receives the bundle allocation will receive the VodaBucks allocation instantly. All add-to-bill purchases will be allocated as part of month-end allocation based on bill settlement. You will also be able to earn VodaBucks on J4U bundle purchases upon successful payment of the bill – so this will form part of monthly allocation based on bill settlement.
I’m on Top-Up, how do I earn VodaBucks?
You will earn VodaBucks on any qualifying direct purchases through credit and debit cards and other types of engagement such as achieving set goals known as behavioural goals and mobile spend. Fixed, Cloud, FTTH and Digital Service revenue will be excluded – only mobile spend will earn VodaBucks.
VodaBucks allocation will happen once a month upon successful bill payment on the in-bundle usage and instantly on all out-of-bundle purchases paid via credit/debit card. All credit/debit card purchases will be allocated instantly. For other behaviours (non-transactional) that earn VodaBucks, these will be allocated within 72 hours. In case of credit or debit card purchases, the number that receives the bundle allocation will receive the VodaBucks allocation instantly.
All add-to-bill purchases will be allocated as part of month-end allocation based on bill settlement. You will also be able to earn VodaBucks on J4U bundle purchases upon the successful payment of the bill – this forms part of the monthly allocation based on bill settlement.
What are behavioural goals?
You can earn extra VodaBucks by completing certain behavioural (or non-transactional) goals. The terms of these goals, as well as the corresponding amount of VodaBucks that can be earned, is clearly defined in the My Vodacom App and USSD by dialing *133# and include:
· Target time to complete the goal
· Goal type
· Goal amount
You need to add goals to your current goal set through a certain action. Additional opportunities for you to earn VodaBucks remain at the discretion of Vodacom and will be personalised accordingly.
VodaBucks earned on behavioural goals will be allocated within 72 hours.
How do I Bank my VodaBucks?
Once you’ve earned your weekly VodaBucks you need to Bank them so that you can spend them (unbanked VodaBucks expire every Friday at midnight and can’t be spent). Two wallet amounts will be shown to you – a banked and an unbanked balance. You can Bank your Bucks instantly with the My Vodacom App or through our USSD channel by dialling *135# and following the prompts.
Will I be reminded to Bank my Bucks each week?
Every Wednesday and Friday (twice a week) we will remind you via push notification and/or SMS to Bank your Bucks so you don’t miss out.
Once you’ve banked your Bucks, you’ll unlock a range of amazing rewards in the VodaBucks Store including cellphones, electronics, appliances, shopping coupons and MORE.
When do my VodaBucks expire?
Our rewards cycle runs from Saturday-Friday (7 days) and you can Bank your Bucks as often as you like during the week. Make sure you Bank what you earn in the weekly cycle before the Friday midnight cut-off. After this, any unbanked Bucks expire.
Banked VodaBucks are valid for 12 months from the date of banking. This means that VodaBucks will be accumulated for a period of 12 months before your first banked VodaBucks expire. For example, if you Bank on Friday 14th August 2020 your banked VodaBucks will be eligible until midnight on the 13th August 2021. The rule on redemption of VodaBucks will follow a “first-in, first-out” approach, giving you maximum value of your accumulated VodaBucks.
If you are on Postpaid, allocation of VodaBucks happens every month based on your bill cycle to allow you time to Bank effectively the next Friday.
Will I be reminded before my banked VodaBucks expire?
Clear and concise notifications will be made to you seven (7) days prior to the expiration of your VodaBucks through:
· Outbound SMS
· App notification
· VodaBucks portal available on USSD
· The My VodacomApp
How can I use my VodaBucks?
VodaBucks can be redeemed across the following channels:
· Mega Shake (surprise and delight allocated prizes)
· VodaBucks Store
- My VodacomApp: voice, data, SMS and integrated bundles plus coupons and all lifestyle categories
- USSD: voice, data, SMS and integrated bundles
- Daily Shake: you can use your VodaBucks to buy additional Daily Shakes (up to 5x Shakes per day)
The rewards and prizes made available, as well as the amount of VodaBucks required to purchase a specific reward or item, will be at the discretion of VodaBucks Rewards Programme.
What is a Mega Shake?
If you are looking for some fun, try out our new game of chance. You can spend 5 VodaBucks to unlock a SURPRISE reward using the My Vodacom App or USSD channel. There is a no-win category meaning prizes are not always guaranteed. To play on the Mega Shake, you need to purchase a Mega Shake using VodaBucks, an amount which is set by VodaBucks Rewards Programme.
The VodaBucks Store
You can purchase goods and services with your VodaBucks through the VodaBucks Store. Joining the VodaBucks Rewards Programme means you will earn VodaBucks when using our qualifying Vodacom services. Once you Bank your Bucks, you can then spend them on a range of rewards in the VodaBucks Store. Rewards in the VodaBucks Store include:
- Airtime and data bundles
- Home (household) rewards
- Food and grocery rewards
- Fashion rewards
- Lifestyle rewards
- Travel rewards
- … and MORE
Accessing the VodaBucks Store is easy, just go to the My Vodacom Appwithin the VodaBucks Rewards Programme menu.

How can I use my VodaBucks to make purchases?
You are able to purchase products and services through different payment methods. In the VodaBucks Store, payment methods include:
· Credit card payments;
· Airtime (on GSM purchases only)
· VodaBucks only; and/or
· Combination of VodaBucks plus credit/cheque card
Partial payments are allowed within the VodaBucks Store and will be governed in line with the VodaBucks Rewards Programme rules (i.e. payment options of products and services within the VodaBucks Store remain at the discretion of Vodacom, with the only universal payment option being VodaBucks):
· VodaBucks combination with cash/credit or cheque payment will always be presented
· You cannot decide the VodaBucks and cash (credit or cheque card) combination you want to opt for, this will always be predefined in line with the rules of the rewards programme.
What is the redemption rate of VodaBucks?
You will be able to redeem VodaBucks on selected items in the VodaBucks Store at a redemption rate set in line with the VodaBucks Rewards Programme rules as set by Vodacom at its discretion
Is my personal data safe?
VodaBucks Rewards Programme reserves the right to change its Terms and Conditions and where such change is material, VodaBucks Rewards Programme shall provide you with reasonable written notice before implementing any such change.
VodaBucks Rewards Programme
All information relating to the competition which is published on any marketing material will form part of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between such marketing material and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
