How do I set up my Vodacom Home Internet (5G or LTE) router?
Setup is plug and play. Insert the Vodacom SIM, connect the power cable, switch the router on, and connect using the Wi Fi name (SSID) and password on the sticker under the router.
How do I change my Wi Fi name and password?
Connect to Wi‑Fi, open 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, log in (default usually admin), go to Wi‑Fi/WLAN Settings, update the SSID and password, then save.
How do I reset my router to factory settings?
Press and hold the Reset hole at the back of the router for 10 seconds while powered on. Defaults will be restored.
Can I use the SIM card in another device?
No. Home Internet SIM cards are locked to the supplied router.
Why is my Wi Fi slow and how can I improve the speed?
Place the router centrally, elevate it, avoid interference, and use a mesh system for large homes.
What is buffering?
Buffering occurs when content pauses because data cannot download fast enough.
What causes slow internet speeds?
Weak Wi Fi signal, too many devices, interference, outdated equipment, large downloads, VPN usage, or service issues.
What is the difference between 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi Fi?
2.4GHz has wider coverage with slower speeds. 5GHz offers faster speeds but shorter range.
Are speeds guaranteed?
No. Speeds vary based on network conditions.
What are the manual APN settings for my home router?
APN: lte.vodacom.za (Home LTE) or internet. Username/Password: blank or guest. Authentication: PAP.
What happens during a power outage?
The router will go offline unless connected to a UPS.
Can I use Home Internet as mobile Wi Fi?
No. The service is restricted to the registered address.
