Vodacom Easy2Own Black November Promotion

Terms and Conditions:

Vodacom (Pty) Ltd (“Vodacom”) is running the Vodacom Easy2Own Black November Promotion where new Easy2Own customers who purchase any Easy2Own device along with an Unlock Bundle will receive double the data and voice allocation for each day their bundle is active. The Unlock Bundles applicable for this promotion are the 1-day, 7-day, 30-day voice and data Unlock Bundles. Additionally, new customers will receive a 12-month free VIU subscription. This promotion is only valid from 29th November 2024 to 5th December 2024.

All participants during the term of the Promotion agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions:

Duration

  1. The Promotion is open to all new Easy2Own customers residing in South Africa who purchase an Easy2Own device and any 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day data & voice Unlock Bundle from 06h00 on 29 November 2024 to 23h59 on 5th December 2024.
  2. The duration of the Promotion may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of Vodacom.

Eligibility

  1. Only new Easy2Own customers, as stipulated in clause 1 above, will qualify to receive double the Unlock Bundles, data and voice value, and the free 12-month VIU Subscription.
  2. Only entrants who are using SIM cards that have been RICA registered are eligible to participate in the promotion. Each owner of a SIM card(s) is responsible to comply with South African law by RICA registering their SIM cards.
  3. Participants must reside in South Africa and be in possession of a valid South African identity document or permanent residence permit or temporary residence permit valid for a period exceeding 3 (three) months for the Republic of South Africa and valid at the End Date.

Valid Entry

  1. To be eligible for the Easy2Own Black November Promotion qualifying customers must:

7.1 Purchase an Easy2Own device as well as any 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day Unlock Bundles;

7.2 Keep the device unlocked for a minimum of 15 days within each 30-day period to qualify for the free VIU subscription for the following period;

At the end of each 30-day period, customers’ unlock history will be evaluated to determine if they met the 15-day minimum.

 If the customer meets the 15-day unlock requirement, they will receive the next 30 days of free VIU subscription.

The free VIU subscription is limited to a maximum of 12 months (30-day periods) from the activation date, regardless of compliance.

  1. There are no additional charges for participating in the Promotion apart from the standard data costs to upload a valid entry, as explained in clause 7 above. Standard data costs apply as per the user’s Service Provider and existing price plan for data usage.
  2. Vodacom shall not be liable for any costs incurred by the customers for participating in the Promotion, where applicable.

General

  1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the participant or the promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 ("CPA").
  2. In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the Promotion and/or the Terms and Conditions, Vodacom’s decision will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  3. Vodacom may refuse to award the promotion if entry procedures or these Terms and Conditions have not been adhered to or if it detects any irregularities or fraudulent practices. Vodacom is entitled in its entire discretion to reject any participant for any reason and will not be obliged to notify participants that they are rejected. 
  4. Vodacom and/or any other person or party associated with the Promotion, their associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors and any of its personnel involved in the Promotion, shall not be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage incurred or suffered (including but not limited to direct or indirect or consequential loss), death or personal injury suffered or sustained arising from either participation in the Promotion or from claiming the prize.
  5. Vodacom is not liable for any technical failures affecting participation and / or prize redemption process of the Promotion. In addition, neither Vodacom nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems affecting participating in and/or the prize redemption process of the Promotion.
  6. Vodacom, its directors, employees, agents and distributors, are not responsible for any misrepresentation (whether written or verbal) in respect of any prize nor in respect of any warranties, guarantees or undertakings given by any person other than Vodacom itself.
  7. If Vodacom is required by law to alter or cancel any aspect of the Promotion or to terminate it as a result of changes in legislation, or for any reason whatsoever, it will have the right to terminate the Promotion being offered, with immediate effect and without notice. In such event all entrants hereby waive any rights which they may have against Vodacom and its associated companies, agents, contractors and/or sponsors.
  8. All information relating to the Promotion which is published on any marketing material will form part of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between such marketing material and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

  1. What is VIU?

VIU is a premium video streaming service that gives you access the best local and international content from any device (mobile phone, tablet, desktop and smart TV). You can either stream or download your favourite show to watch later, at your convenience.

  1. How do I receive the free VIU subscription?

Upon activation of their Easy2Own device, customers will receive the first month of their VIU subscription for free. Customers must meet the 15-day Unlock requirement to receive the free VIU subscription in the months that follow

  1. What is the duration of the promotion?

The promotion will start on the 29 November 2024 and run until the 5 December 2024.

  1. Will I still receive the free VIU if I don’t meet the 15-day Unlock Requirement?

If a customer does not meet the 15-day Unlock requirement within a 30-day period, they will not receive the free subscription for the next 30 days. However, should the customer meet the Unlock criteria in the following 30-day period, the free subscription will be reactivated
