The project in Tanga Senior Secondary School is being facilitated through the Connect for Change Trust’s Digital Education pillar, aimed at adopting quintile 1 schools and turning them into safe schools that use digital tools to achieve academic excellence. In the first phase of the project, the Trust, through its partnership with Vodacom Foundation invested seed funding of over R300 000 to refurbish a classroom to be converted into a computer lab. Vodacom has also helped the school with infrastructure upgrades, including
decommissioning pit latrines and replacing them with more adequate ablution facilities, as well as security installation.

Since 2021, the Connect for Change Trust has partnered with The LunchBox Fund to fight the growing food security crisis affecting millions of young children in South Africa. Through this
partnership, over 30,000 preschool children receive a nutritious meal every school day — a meal that fuels learning, growth, and hope.
The core pillar of the Connect for Change Trust is digitising education in the form of adopting rural schools and collaborating with partners to transform the facility into a digitally-enabled learning environment.
Customer donations in this pillar go towards computer room renovations, decommissioning of pit latrines with safer, hygienic and dignified ablution facilities ,installation of security infrastructure and other essential efforts that offer improved learning conditions.
