Terms and Conditions

  1. The Back To School promotion will run from 26 December 2021 until 31 January 2022
  2. The promotion is exclusive to new Vodacom Prepaid customers that activate a Vodacom starter pack in any Pekor store (Pep and Ackermans)
  1. The Back To School promotion is not available to existing Prepaid customers or new and existing Hybrid or contract customers
  2. Customers that have activated their Vodacom Prepaid starterpack in the participating Pep or Ackermans store will qualify to purchase an exclusive Everyday – Ta data bundle, as well as participate in The "Recharge and Get" WhatsApp bundle promotion
  3. Vodacom reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions and where such amendment is material, Vodacom will provide reasonable prior written notice prior to implementing any such change.

Everyday-ta Data Terms and Conditions

  1. Everyday-ta bundles are available to new Vodacom Prepaid customers
  2. Everyday-ta bundles are not available to Hybrid and contract customers.
  3. Qualifying customers will be presented with a single purchase 250MB recurring data offer (pay upfront) valid for a 12 month period, plus a 7.5GB Night Owl bundle allocated every month for 12 months, from the day of activation
  4. Night Owl data can only be used between midnight 00:00 and 5:00am on any day of the week
  5. The offer above will only be presented to new prepaid customers who have been active on the Vodacom network for less than or equal to 30 days:
  6. Everyday-ta bundles are LTE bundles, with 3G fall-back.
  7. The first of the daily bundle allocations will be loaded on the date of purchase of the bundle. Customers will receive an SMS confirming the allocation of the Everyday-ta bundles.
  8. All unused bundles will expire every day at 23:59 on the day of allocation.
  9. Data Transfer is available on Everyday-ta bundles. The transfer is applicable on the data allocated for a particular day-once-off. Data Transfer rules apply.
  10. Data Rollover does not apply to Everyday-ta bundles.
  11. It is possible to purchase other additional once-off bundles when an Everyday-ta bundle is active.
  12. It is possible to purchase an Everyday-ta bundle, and concurrently opt-in to a recurring data bundle.
  13. Bundles with the shortest validity will be consumed first, with the exception of URL bundles which will be consumed on the specific URL stated upon purchase e.g. a YouTube bundle.
  14. Data limit lock rules apply.
  15. When a customer migrates from Prepaid to Hybrid/ Postpaid the customer will forfeit the Everyday-ta bundles.
  16. When a customer migrates within Prepaid plans customer will keep the Everyday-ta bundle.
  17. Vodacom reserves the right to suspend the Service in the event of suspected abuse or fraudulent usage, outside of what is considered reasonable for private, non-commercial use.
  18. Vodacom reserves the right to limit the Service in regions or areas where there is limited network capacity (high congestion) in order to maintain consistent quality of service.
  19. Vodacom reserves the right to alter or terminate the Service in order to prevent a catastrophic
  20. While Vodacom will use its reasonable endeavours to provide the Service, it does not commit to the uninterrupted supply of the Service, due to potential capacity limitations on the network.
  21. Vodacom reserves the right to suspend, cancel or convert the Service with reasonable notice.
  22. Vodacom reserves the right to change and/ or expand on these terms and conditions and will provide reasonable notice of any material changes prior to such change as and when the circumstances permit.

"Recharge and Get" WhatsApp Bundle Promotion

  1. New prepaid customers who recharge with R12, 00 or more will be allocated a 250MB WhatsApp data bundle valid for 7 days.
  2. This is open to all new prepaid customers that joined the Vodacom network from 26 December 2021
  3. Prepaid customers that joined the Vodacom network prior to 26 December 2021 will not qualify for this bundle
  4. Customers on hybrid and contract will not qualify
  5. Machine to Machine, IoT and associated services are not permitted to use the Service. If the sim card is used in a fixed location device to regularly make and receive calls to multiple numbers, the Service will be suspended immediately, pending an investigation
  6. Qualifying customers that recharge with equal to or more than R12, 00 will result in the allocation of the promotional WhatsApp bundle
  7. This threshold will be evaluated across a single recharge (i.e. cumulative recharges are not considered)
  8. Only standard airtime recharges are considered as qualifying recharges
  9. Airtime Advance allocations and Airtime Transfers into a customer's airtime balance will not count towards the R12, 00 threshold
  10. Multiple qualifying recharges will result in multiple allocations of the promotional bundle. For example:
  • R12 recharge will result in 1 WhatsApp bundle allocated
  • R15 recharge will result in 1 WhatsApp bundle allocated
  • R12 recharge followed by a R29 recharge will result in 2 (1+1) WhatsApp bundles allocated
  • R11 recharge will result in no allocation
  • R11 recharge followed by a R11 recharge will result in no allocation
  1. Every qualifying recharge will trigger the allocation of a 250MB WhatsApp Bundle valid for 7 days
  2. The WhatsApp bundle gives access to the WhatsApp messaging app in order to send and receive messages, videos and audio files via the app
  3. Usage on the app excludes voice calling and video calling
  4. Usage of the WhatsApp bundle is applicable on the Vodacom network within South Africa (i.e. internationally roaming is excluded)
  5. The allocated bundle will be once-off (i.e. will not recur)
  6. A customer can have multiple WhatsApp bundle allocations if they have multiple qualifying recharges
  7. Initiating a Free Change to another prepaid price plan will have no impact on the bundle
  8. Vodacom reserves the right to suspend the Service in the event of suspected abuse or fraudulent usage, outside of what is considered reasonable for private, non-commercial use.

"Buy and Get" Device Promotion

The customer will be sent a message every 30 days to satisfy a recharge criteria, if the customer meets the recharge criteria within that 30 day period, they will qualify for the promotional allocation or else the allocation for that period is forfeited.

When customers forfeit a month due to not meeting the recharge criteria, this does not extend to the 12 months of the campaign.

  1. New and existing Vodacom prepaid customers (excluding Community Service and SIGI customers) can participate in the promotion, excluding Post-paid and Hybrid/Top-Up customers (both new and existing)(the “Qualifying Vodacom Customers”).
  2. Qualifying Vodacom customers purchasing a new and qualifying Vodacom issued device (the “Qualifying Device”) during the Promotion Period from a participating Pepkor stores (the “Participating Stores”) will be eligible to qualify for monthly data allocation
  3. Qualifying Vodacom Customers must recharge with a cumulative value of R29 or more every 30 days, for a period of 12 months to redeem the free allocation each month (30 days).
  4. The recharge criteria will reset every 30 days from date of activation of the promotion/campaign
  5. Each month (30 day period) will be evaluated independently and missing the recharge criteria in one month will not impact the recharge criteria of any other month (i.e. consecutive months are not mandatory)
  6. A Qualifying Device can only enter the promotion/campaign once
  7. When a qualifying customer with a qualifying device successfully achieves the recharge criteria they will be allocated the following bundle that month:
    • For 3G devices: 10 Vodacom minutes + 100MB every day for 7 days
    • For 4G devices: 20 Vodacom minutes + 175MB every day for 7 days
  8. An additional allocation ofYouTube data will be allocated upon achieving the recharge criteria and will be allocated as follows for that month:
    • For 3G devices: 500MB YouTube bundle once-off valid for 7 days
    • For 4G devices: 1GB YouTube bundle once-off valid for 7 days
  9. The above allocations will be made within 72hours of the recharge criteria being achieved
  10. The promotional allocations (see 8 and 9) have a 12 month recurring cycle as long as the recharge criteria for each 30 day period is achieved. That is, if customers recharge with R29 every 30 days they will receive their allocations every month for 12 months.
  11. The promotional offer will only be activated if thequalifying Vodacom customer exclusively uses thenew or existing Vodacom Prepaid MSISDN (phone number) on the Qualifying Device purchased at a Participating Store.
  12. The following applies for the Vodacom minutes allocation
    • This bundle is for local voice calls - video calls are excluded
    • The allocated voice bundle will only be applicable to on-net (i.e. Vodacom to Vodacom) voice calls
    • All off-net calls will be billed to the customers prevailing price plan
    • All unused minutes will expire every day at midnight
    • Each daily allocation is independent of previous or subsequent allocations
    • There will be no carryover or rollover of unused minutes
