Terms and Conditions

The customer will not be sent a message every 30 days to satisfy a recharge criterion: if the customer meets the recharge criteria within that 30 day period, they will qualify for the promotional allocation or else the allocation for that period is forfeited. 

When customers forfeit a month due to not meeting the recharge criteria this does not extend the 12 months of the campaign.

  1. The Discount Voucher retail campaign (the “Promotion”) will run from 15 July 2022until 31 October 2022 (both days inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”).
  1. The Discount Voucher can be redeemed once in-store against a sale of qualifying devices.
  1. Customers qualify for one (1) voucher per person against a sale of a 4G device only.
  1. Discount Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
  1. Qualifying customers are randomly selected at random based of a Vodacom 2G / 3G base list.
  1. Existing Vodacom prepaid customers (excluding Community Service and SIGI customers) can participate in the Promotion, excluding Post-paid and Hybrid/Top-Up customers (both new and existing) (the “Qualifying Vodacom Customers”).
  1. Qualifying Vodacom Customers purchasing a new and qualifying Vodacom issued device (the “Qualifying Device”) during the Promotion Period from a participating Vodacom Franchise or National Chain store will be eligible to qualify for monthly data allocation, for a period of 12 months provided the recharge criteria are met.
  1. Only qualifying Vodacom Franchises in two identified regions (KZN and Gauteng) will be eligible to enter the campaign.
  1. Qualifying Vodacom Customers must recharge with a cumulative value of R29 or more every 30 days, for a period of 12 months to redeem the free allocation each month (30 days). 
  1. The recharge criteria will reset every 30 days from date of activation of the Promotion.
  1. Each month (30 day period) will be evaluated independently and missing the recharge criteria in one month will not impact the recharge criteria of any other month (i.e., consecutive months are not mandatory), but the 12 month period is not extended when missing a month.
  1. A Qualifying Device is only eligible to enter the Promotion once.
  1. A Qualifying Vodacom Customer is only eligible to enter the Promotion once.
  1. A Qualifying Vodacom Customer who meets all the criteria for the Promotion will randomly receive either a R100 or R200 Discount Voucher.
  1. The Redemption of the Discount Voucher (R100/ R200) can be used once (one per customer).
  1. Upon redemption of either the R100/R200 Discount voucher a Qualifying Vodacom Customer who connect his / her Qualifying Device on to the Vodacom network will, subject to a R29 recharge, for the following bundle that month:
    • For 4G devices: 20 Vodacom minutes + 175MB every day for 7 days.
  1. The above allocations will be made within 72hours of the recharge criteria being achieved.
  1. The promotional allocations (see clauses 9, 10 and 14) have a 12 month recurring cycle as long as the recharge criteria for each 30 day period is achieved. That is, if customers recharge with R29 every 30 days they will receive their allocations every month for 12 months.
  1. The promotional offer will only be activated if the qualifying Vodacom customer exclusively uses the new or existing Vodacom Prepaid MSISDN (phone number) on the Qualifying Device purchased at a Participating Store.
  1. The following applies for the Vodacom minutes allocation
    • This bundle is for local voice calls - video calls are excluded;
    • The allocated voice bundle will only be applicable to on-net (i.e. Vodacom to Vodacom) voice calls;
    • All off-net calls will be billed to the customers prevailing price plan;
    • All unused minutes will expire every day at midnight;
    • Each daily allocation is independent of previous or subsequent allocations;
    • There will be no carryover or rollover of unused minutes;
    • The following call types are excluded from this bundle:
      • Voice and video calls to other SA Networks
      • Roaming calls
      • International calls
      • Video calls (to all networks)
      • Conference calls (to other SA networks)
      • Call Sponsor
      • VAS calls
      • Reverse Charge
      • SMS, MMS, Data, SVS
      • General Service calls
      • Directory Enquiry calls
      • Reconnect
      • Message forwarding
      • Fax Out dial
      • Call forwarding (to other SA networks )
  1. The following applies for the data allocation:
    • This bundle is for local general data usage - international roaming is excluded;
    • All unused data will expire every day at midnight;
    • Each daily allocation is independent of previous or subsequent allocations;
    • There will be no carryover or rollover of unused data;
    • Data may not be transferred;
    • Data allocated will not carry a separate out of bundle rate and the standard out-of-bundle rate specific to the customer’s prepaid price plan will apply for any out-of-bundle usage;
  1. The following applies for the YouTube data allocation:
    • This bundle is for local YouTube data usage - international roaming is excluded;
    • The above applies to YouTube app or in-browser usage;
    • All unused data will expire at midnight on the day of expiry;
    • Each allocation is independent of previous or subsequent allocations;
    • There will be no carryover or rollover of unused data;
  1. Initiating a FreeChange to another prepaid price plan will not impact the promotion.
  1. Migrating to top-up or postpaid will result in the removal from the promotion and forfeiture of any remaining allocations (including future months).
  1. The Promotion is only valid in Participating Stores during the Promotional Period.
  1. The duration of the Promotion may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of Vodacom.
  1. In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the Promotion and/or the Terms and Conditions thereof, Vodacom’s decision will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  1. Neither Vodacom or any other person or party associated with the Promotion, their associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors and any of its personnel involved in the competition, shall be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage incurred or suffered (including but not limited to direct or indirect or consequential loss), death or personal injury suffered or sustained arising from participation in the Promotion. 
  1. If Vodacom is required by law to alter or cancel any aspect of the Promotion or to terminate it as a result of changes in legislation, or for any reason whatsoever, it will have the right to terminate the Promotion being offered, with immediate effect and without notice. In such event all participants hereby waive any rights which they may have against the Vodacom and its associated companies, agents, contractors and/or sponsors.
  1. All information relating to the Promotion which is published on any marketing material will form part of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between such marketing material and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
  1. These terms and conditions must be read in conjunction with the standard Vodacom standard T&Cs.
  1. Vodacom reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions and where such amendment is material, Vodacom will provide the customer with reasonable prior written notice prior to implementing such change.
  1. By entering into the campaign, customer consent to have their device’s MSISDNs & ICCIDs (the “Device Info”) shared with WhatsApp, Facebook and Google, only to monitor whether participants join WhatsApp and/or Facebook; and/or make use of WhatsApp and/or Facebook and/or Google. These third parties (WhatsApp, Facebook, Google) will handle the data within the set out applicable POPIA regulations/Laws, and Vodacom will not share any personal information other than the Device Info with these third parties.
