What is the Vodacom 112 Emergency Service App?

The Vodacom 112 Emergency Service App is an Emergency Service exclusively for Vodacom’s Deaf, hearing impaired, speech Impaired, deaf and Deafblind customers. The service enables users to contact the ER24 Emergency Contact Centre that is available 24 hours, 365 days a year

Who qualifies to use the Emergency Service App?

Contract and Prepaid Vodacom customers who are Deaf, hearing impaired, speech Impaired, deaf and Deafblind.

How do I download the Emergency Service App?

Customers must download the Vodacom 112 Emergency Service App from the Google Playstore (Android – 5.0 /Lollipop) and above) and Apple iStore (IOS - 10 and above).

Windows based phones will not be supported in this phase

How do I register to use the Emergency Service App?

In order to use the Emergency Service, Deaf, Hearing and speech impaired customers must first register their mobile number. Click ‘Register”, enter your mobile number, select your disability type and read and accept the Terms and Conditions and the Vodacom Privacy Statement.

Note that customers will need to register for the Vodacom 112 Emergency Service App even though they have registered for the 112 SMS service.

How does the Emergency Service App work?

The Service enables registered customers to request Help by contacting the ER 24 Emergency Service Contact Centre via the Emergency Service App. Customers can request emergency services such as police, ambulance, fire and sea rescue for themselves or for others.

How do I request Help?

Click on the ‘Help Chat’ button where after you need to indicate if the emergency is for yourself or for someone else. Continue to follow the prompts from there on. The Er24 Emergency Service Contact Centre Agent will request the relevant emergency service such as police, fire, sea rescue and ambulance on your behalf.

Is the Vodacom 112 Emergency Service App (ER24) chargeable?

The Vodacom 112 Emergency Service is a free app. You may however attract data charges in the following instances: 1) when being authenticated via Google+ and Facebook during the registration process and 2) when utilising location services.
