1. WHAT IS E-SIM?

e-SIM is a new technology used by device manufacturers in both mobile phones and wearable devices that allows the device to connect to cellular networks, without a traditional SIM card. This service gives you access to One number from Vodacom: A mobile number shared between your phone and wearable.


2. HOW DOES E-SIM WORK?

The e-SIM is a chip that is added to the existing electronic control unit [ECU] of the device, which contains an embedded Identification [eID], similar to existing SIM card integrated circuit card ID [ICCIDs] that identifies each unique e-SIM and allows a cellular network to link it to a specific profile of a customer.


3. WHAT IS VODACOM ONE NUMBER?

Vodacom One Number is a service that offers Vodacom subscribers the capability to connect their devices to a master number by linking different sim cards through embedded Sims, or e-SIM.


4. HOW DO I CANCEL THIS SERVICE?

Customers can make use of  the self-service functionality to deactivate the One Number Service or contact 082 135.


5. WHAT IS THE APPLE WATCH CELLULAR PROPOSITION FOR EXISTING VODACOM CONTRACT CUSTOMERS?

This is a deal available to customers that are within an existing Vodacom contract and is using a Vodacom number as their primary line. The deal allows existing customers that are in contract to take out the Apple Watch Cellular as an additional line to their main contract. Customers can finance the Apple watch Cellular only via a 24/36 month deal.

This benefits subscribers that are currently in life cycle of an existing contract. They will not have to wait until the end of their contract term before they are allowed to take up the Apple watch Cellular. They can now add on the Apple Watch Cellular anytime as an add-on line to their main contract (subject to affordability).


6. WHO QUALIFIES TO APPLY FOR THE APPLE WATCH CELLULAR?

Only customers that have existing Vodacom contracts with an existing Vodacom number as their primary line. Customers that do not have an existing Vodacom account and a Vodacom number as their primary line will not qualify.


7. WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE CONTRACT FOR THE APPLE WATCH CELLULAR TAKEN OUT AS AN ADD-ON LINE FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS?

These deals have a duration of 24 months or 36 months.


8. HOW IS THE DEAL AVAILABLE TO EXISTING CUSTOMERS?

This deal will be available for existing customers as an add-on line only – New lines and upgrades will not be allowed. For New Lines and upgrades, the Apple watch cellular could be added via accessory instalment.


9. WILL THERE BE AN AIRTIME SUBSCRIPTION ATTACHED TO THIS DEAL?

No, there will be no monthly airtime subscription on the tariff associated with these deals. This will ensure that there is no line rental cost associated with this deal. It will only be the device instalment that will be charged to the customer over the period of the contract


10. CAN THE ESIM VAS BE ADDED TO THE TARIFF ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DEAL?

No subscription services nor VAS can be added to the tariff associated with this deal. The eSim VAS/ subscription services must be added to the customers existing Vodacom primary number. The ESIM service cannot be activated against the tariff/MSISDN associated with this deal, it will need to be activated against the customers primary line or other Vodacom MSISDN which allows the activation of the ESIM service. The eSim service subscription will be billed to the customers main contract


11. WILL THIS DEAL COME WITH A SIM CARD/AIRTIME OR DATA?

No sim card will be issued with this deal, only the ESIM enabled device. The customers existing number will be used to activate the eSim service on the customers exiting Vodacom account. No airtime or data will be issued or allowed on this line.


12. WILL CUSTOMERS THAT TAKE OUT THE APPLE WATCH CELLULAR AS AN ADD-ON LINE TO THEIR EXISTING CONTRACT QUALIFY FOR THE FREE 3 MONTHS TRIAL AND WAIVED CONNECTION FEE FOR THE ESIM SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE?

Yes, customers will qualify.


13. DO NORMAL ADD-ON LINE TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO THIS DEAL?

Yes, the standard terms and conditions apply.


14. WHERE CAN I TAKE OUT THE APPLE WATCH CELLULAR ADD-ON LINE?

Vodacom outlets and Vodacom Online.


15. WHAT HAPPENS IF A CUSTOMER WANTS TO CANCEL THIS DEAL?

Upon cancellation, balance of equipment (BOE) will be calculated and applied. Since there is no tariff subscription cost associated with this deal the customer will be required to only settle the BOE.
