Vodacom Fibre Broadband Services Interim LTE Access

  1. Vodacom Fibre Broadband Services Interim LTE General Terms and Conditions
  • “Uncapped” Vodacom Fibre Broadband Interim LTE Service Description
    • The Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan will be available to customers on Vodacom Fibre self-build and Bitstream fibre networks. 
    • The Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan will only be available where the Fibre build is in a non-live fibre area status at the time that the Vodacom Fibre Broadband order has been approved.
    • The Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access will not be sold as a standalone product, you must have an approved Vodacom Fibre Broadband price plan to qualify for the Interim LTE Access. 
    • You may not resell the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access or use the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access for any commercial activities or where the service is on sold to other users.
    • The Vodacom Fibre Interim Access price plan will be available to Vodacom Fibre Broadband customers on: 24 month, 12 month and month-to-month price plans.
    • The Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access will only be available as a month-to-month price plan. 
    • The Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access will only be provided in Vodacom self-build and Bitstream fibre networks where sufficient LTE coverage has been confirmed. 
    • You can order the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan as part of the initial Vodacom Fibre Broadband order or thereafter subject to condition 2. 
    • If you are an existing Vodacom Fibre Broadband customer you will not be eligible to apply for the Vodacom Fibre Interim Access price plan or where fibre is already available at the requested address.
    • If you are an existing Vodacom Fibre Broadband customer you will be eligible to apply for the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan provided fibre has NOT been installed at the requested address and meets the qualifying criteria. 
    • You will not be allowed to purchases any additional value added services on the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan. 
    • The Vodacom Fibre Broadband Services that are rendered through the Interim LTE Access solution are provisioned on a “Best Effort” basis, and accordingly no guarantees can be provided. Vodacom shall use its best endeavours to ensure that the Vodacom Fibre Broadband Service is provided in accordance with the service description, and the subscriber acknowledges that there are no guaranteed service levels parameters that are associated with this Service.
    • “Best Effort” means a service that does not have associated service level metrics, and whilst certain results are not guaranteed, reasonable efforts will be made to achieve the best results as expeditiously as possible.
  • Charges 
    • Subscribers signing up for the Interim LTE Access qualify for one month’s free subscription that is calculable from the date that the Interim LTE Access solution has been installed and is activated.
    • Your monthly subscription for the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access will be billed in advance.
    • If you are activated during the month you will be billed a pro-rata of the monthly subscription fee for the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan. 
    • Your first invoice will reflect the charges for the current month and the subscription for the month in advance. 
  • Equipment 
    • The following equipment will be delivered to you in order to provide the service, the delivery will be provided free of charge: 
      • Router
      • USB modem
      • SIM card 
    • Vodacom reserves the right to change the equipment used to provide the service from time to time. 
    • The router and USB modem will be preconfigured by Vodacom with the required LTE configurations.
    • You will be required to do a self-install of the preconfigured equipment. 
    • The router, USB modem and SIM supplied for the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan will be reused for the Vodacom Fibre Broadband service.
    • A two-year warranty will apply to all customer equipment provided by Vodacom. 
    • If the equipment supplied for the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan is damaged and falls out of the warranty process you will be liable for the costs of the replacement equipment. 
    • The Interim LTE Access product will be automatically converted to a Mobile Backup Zero product, using the same device once the Fibre installation has been completed.
    • As part of the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan, you may be issued with a new or refurbished Customer Premise Equipment.
  • Service Offering and Pricing
    • Vodacom reserves the right to amend the service offering and pricing from time to time.
    • Vodacom reserves the right to change the Customer Premise Equipment used to provide the service from time to time.
  • Sales Channels
    • The ordering and activation of the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access will be available on the following sales channels:
      • Customer Care (082 1904)
      • Vodacom Retail Stores
      • Business Partners
  • Support Channels
    • Customer Care on 082 1904 will provide support for Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access.
  • Migrations 
    • Migrations between the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access Capped and Uncapped price plans will be allowed. 
    • You will not be allowed to migrate from any other Vodacom tariff plans to the Vodacom Fibre Broadband Interim Access price plan.
    • You will not be allowed to migrate from the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan to any other Vodacom tariff plans.
  • Usage Parameters
    • The usage parameters set out in this document are designed to assist in protecting the Vodacom Network, the Service, Customers and the Internet community as a whole from improper and/or illegal activity over the Internet, to improve service and to improve service offerings.
    • As stipulated in the Acceptable Use Policy, Vodacom reserves the right to monitor usage and apply certain restrictions.
    • Any stated speeds and uninterrupted use of the Service are not guaranteed and actual speeds vary based on the amount of traffic on the internet, content on the particular website, or by the overall performance and configuration of the computer connected to the Service and will likely be lower than the speeds indicated during peak hours.
    • This document is not intended to replace or supersede the Acceptable Use Policy.
    • Some protocols will receive priority over the Vodacom Business network and are seen as business-critical applications.
    • These protocols include:
      • HTTP
      • TTPS
      • SMTP and POP3
      • IMAP
      • FTP
      • TELNET
      • SSH
    • The following protocols are deemed non-mission critical and shall receive the lowest priority on the Vodacom network:
      • Peer-to-Peer
      • BitTorrent
      • Gaming
  • Cancellations 
    • The Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan will be cancelled immediately when your Vodacom Fibre Broadband service has been installed and activated.
    • You may cancel the Vodacom Fibre Broadband order prior to the installation and activation of the Vodacom Fibre Broadband service.
    • A change in the Fibre build roadmap where Vodacom no longer determines it is feasible to roll-out fibre. You will be notified thirty (30) days in advance regarding the mandatory cancellation where the Vodacom Fibre build roadmap has changed.
    • You can request the cancellation of the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan, subject to a thirty (30) day notification period.
    • You may cancel the Vodacom Fibre Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan service without cancelling the existing Vodacom Fibre Broadband order.
    • If you are active on the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan and you cancel the Vodacom Fibre Broadband order prior to installation of the Vodacom Fibre service you will be liable for the cost of the router and USB modem which is supplied as part of the Vodacom Fibre Interim LTE Access price plan.
    • The remainder of the costs associated with the router and USB modem (applicable where the USB modem was not paid for upfront) is determined as follows: (12 months - month in which contract is cancelled) X (router / USB modem cost /12).
