Phil Molefe (Honourary Patron) is Head of International Affairs and Group Executive:
Corporate Affairs at the SABC. He is widely acknowledged for his vast journalistic experience both in South Africa and abroad.

Robin Sewlal (Convener of Judges) is Associate Director: Journalism, at the Durban University of Technology. He is also an advocate, sits as Commissioner on the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA) and Chairperson of the Standards Generating Body (SGB) for Journalism. Robin is Deputy-Chair of the Durban-New Orleans/
Chicago Sister City Committee.

Melanie Chait is a former Fulbright scholar and international documentary filmmaker who established the award-winning Big Fish School of Digital Filmmaking in Johannesburg.

Johann de Wet is currently Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Communication Science at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein and is a former journalist, diplomat and government spokesperson.

Victor Matom is a well known and gifted freelance photographer, exhibiting and published both nationally and internationally. ZB Molefe is a veteran journalist of varied and wide experience of more than 30 years. He has published a book, "A Common Hunger to Sing", and is represented in a number of poetry anthologies.

Rich Mkhondo is Chief Communications Officer for the FIFA 2010 World Cup Organising Committee South Africa and is a marketing and communications executive, occasional columnist, author, former journalist and foreign correspondent.

Maud Motanyane is a former editor and journalist and is currently the Chairperson of Kagiso Media. Collin Nxumalo has worked for various publications, including The Star Newspaper. As well as managing Nxumalo Roodt & Co., Nxumalo is the Editor of Enterprise Magazine.

Sefako Andrew Nyaka is a qualified teacher, journalist and change management practitioner. He has worked previously for the former Rand Daily Mail, Weekly Mail, New Nation, Sunday Star and Sunday World.

Mary Papayya is a former editor, news editor, executive producer and bureau chief. She serves on several professional media bodies including the SA National Editor's Forum (SANEF) where she is serving her third term as Secretary-General. Mary is involved in a range of
community and development initiatives, media training and projects involving women and children in Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is the current Bureau Chief of the Sowetan.

Lizette Rabe is respected Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Journalism at Stellenbosch University, and council member of the South African National Editors' Forum (SANEF) and is a former editor.
