- Install the software on your desktop or laptop PC
- Then simply use your USB cable to connect your 3G cellphone to your PC via the USB port, and establish an Internet connection.
OR - Purchase a preloaded Via The Phone USB Smart Plug from your nearest participating Vodacom dealer (This USB includes 2GB flash memory).
Then use your USB cable to connect your cellphone and your PC or laptop. When you insert the USB Smart Plug into the USB slot of your PC, the Via The Phone Connection Manager software will automatically install and an Internet connection will be established.

Alternative Options If you have purchased a 3G-enabled or GPRS-enabled cellphone, that is not on the compatible Via The Phone compatible cellphone list, you may still be able to use your cellphone as a modem to connect to the Internet. Most cellphone suppliers provide software and connectivity options (USB cable, Bluetooth) with the cellphone that allows you to establish and Internet connection via your cellphone from your PC. Connect now using the PC Suite included with your cellphone: - Install the PC Suite software from the CD included with your cellphone;
- Launch the software and make sure it detects your cellphone through the USB cable provided (or using Bluetooth);
- Select the appropriate "Internet" option from the menu and establish a connection;
- The software will automatically detect your Vodacom SIM card and connect you to the Internet;
- You may have to create a manual (APN) connection.
