Now you can easily access the Internet, email or your company network whilst travelling, at a fixed South African Rand rate, per MB of data used. Vodacom's Data Roaming service not only ensures the widest global coverage on Vodafone Partner Networks, but also provides you with preferential rates measured in a minimum of 10 kilobyte increments of usage. With Vodacom's Super-Saver Data Rates you also automatically qualify for a reduced rate per MB, when you roam on selected Vodacom or Vodafone partner networks. Data Roaming is currently only available to Vodacom Contract customers and is not currently available to Top Up and Prepaid customers. When travelling internationally, you will be charged for using the Internet on your cellphone depending on which network you're roaming on and how much data you use. Internet on your cellphone can become expensive quickly and you can easily use a few 100 kilobytes per day. If you do not plan to use data while roaming, ensure that all data-related activities on your cellphone are disabled, such as receiving email, browsing the Internet on your cellphone, or using instant messaging services and other applications. It is also important to note that using your BlackBerry to check your email and browse the web, is not free when roaming, and will be billed at the applicable Vodafone World Zone rate for data usage. Accessing Vodafone Live! is also not free when roaming and will also be billed at the applicable Vodafone World Zone rate for data roaming. Using a laptop abroad
When using a laptop abroad, internet access is also charged depending on which network you're roaming on and how much data is used. Streaming video, peer-to-peer file sharing or any other type of download is data-intensive and can become expensive. To avoid high bills, be aware of all background download activity like Windows and anti-virus software updates or any other automatic application downloads.

How to activate this option
Data Roaming on Vodafone World is automatically available to Vodacom Contract customers, once the International Roaming service has been activated on their account. Data Roaming is not currently available to Top Up and Prepaid customers.
