Vodacom Welcome Tones IVR Promotion Terms and Conditions
In order to promote its Welcome Tones service, Vodacom (Pty) Ltd (“Vodacom”), is conducting the Vodacom Welcome Tones promotion (“the promotion”).
All participants during the term of the promotion agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:
1. Vodacom will reward 10 Vodacom subscribers;
1.1. 5 (five) subscribers will win Vodacom gift cards to the value of R5000 daily on Metro FM
1.1.1. Between 21 July 2010 and 30 July 2010
1.1.2. Subscribers must have entered via the predefined IVR 1178 88
1.2. 5 (five) subscribers will win Vodacom gift cards to the value of R2500 daily on Good Hope FM.
1.2.1. Between 4 August 2010 and 13 August 2010.
1.2.2. Subscribers must have entered via the predefined IVR 1178 78
2. Vodacom subscribers must purchase a predefined Welcome Tone from the above specified Welcome Tones IVR during the promotional period.
3. Once the subscriber has successfully purchased a Welcome Tone, the subscriber will automatically be entered into the draw for the promotion.
4. If a subscriber’s MSISDN is drawn by Vodacom, the radio DJ will attempt to call him/her.
5. Should the DJ call the subscriber, he/she must have the selected Welcome Tone active.
6. If the selected Welcome Tone is active when the subscriber of the respective MSISDN answers the DJ`s call, the subscriber wins the daily gift card prize.
7. The daily winners will be announced on the respective radio stations.
8. The winners will be contacted telephonically at least two (2) working days following the announcement on radio, by a Vodacom representative.
General Rules
1. This promotion is open to all persons residing in South Africa.
2. Participants must be a Vodacom subscriber and be in possession of a valid identity document.
3. Winners younger than 18 years must have a legal guardian to represent them and accept the prize of their behalf.
4. The promotional period will begin on Metro at 6am on 21 July 2010 and close at 12am on 29 July 2010. The promotional period will begin on Good Hope FM at 6am on 4th August 2010 and close at 12am on 12th August 2010
5. The promotion lines are open during the dates and times stipulated above.
6. Entry into the promotion is subject to a customer purchasing a predefined Welcome Tone from the IVR.
7. Should the radio station DJ contact the winner and find that the purchased tone has not been set as a Welcome Tone on the potential winner’s MSISDN, the participant will be disqualified and forfeit the prize.
8. Subscribers must dial the IVR number specified and purchase a Welcome Tone from the tones specified, to be eligible for the daily Vodacom Gift Voucher prizes.
9. Subscribers that enter into the Vodacom Voucher draw will have to answer the MSISDN used to purchase the Welcome Tone, when the DJ calls in order to win the daily prize.
10. 5 random numbers will be drawn from the list of entries, and the winner will be selected from these 5 drawn numbers.
11. The first subscriber to have the selected Welcome Tone active, and answer their phone will win the daily prize.
12. If none of the subscribers answer the call from the Radio DJ during the allocated time, the daily prize will be rolled over to the next day
13. Entries received during the dates specified will be randomly drawn and winners contacted at least two (2) workings day thereafter
14. A subscriber can enter as many times as they want, however, a subscriber is only eligible to win once for the entire duration of the promotion.
15. The winner must be able to identify him or herself (in a manner determined by Vodacom) as the entrant of the promotion and have to comply with the required validation procedure in order to claim the prize.
16. Prizes that remain unclaimed after three (3) months will be forfeited.
17. The duration of the promotion may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of Vodacom.
18. The prizes are not transferable.
19. In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the promotion and/or the terms and conditions, Vodacom’s decision will be final and binding and no correspondence may be entered into.
20. A prize winners name, location and image may be published on the Vodacom website(s).
21. Winners will be contacted during working hours, between eight (8) in the morning and five (5) in the afternoon.v
22. Vodacom will use reasonable efforts to contact the winner telephonically on the contact details used to participate in the promotion.
23. Should a participant not be available on the contact number used to participate in the promotion, that person's right to the prize will be deemed to have been waived and the prize will be forfeited. Vodacom reserves the right to then award the prize to the next randomly drawn participant.
24. Vodacom shall not be liable for any costs incurred by the winner in claiming the prize. All risks and ownership of the prize shall pass to the winner on transfer/delivery thereof and hence all of Vodacom’s obligations in regard to the promotion as well as in regard to the prize shall terminate.
25. Vodacom is entitled in its entire discretion to reject any entry or participant for any reason and will not be obliged to notify participants that they are rejected.
26. Vodacom is not liable for any technical failures affecting participation and/or prize redemption process of the promotion.
27. Employees, directors, agents, contractors and consultants of Vodacom and all other participating companies and their immediate families, life partners, associates, or business partners may not be winners of this promotion.
28. Vodacom, its associated companies, agents, contractors and any of its personnel involved in this promotion, assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage, death or injury arising from participation in the promotion or from claiming the prize or for any loss or damage, death or injury however arising.
29. Vodacom assumes no liability whatsoever for any entry that has been omitted from participation for any reason whatsoever. v
30. Vodacom may in its sole discretion amend these terms and conditions at any time, without notice, and such amendments shall be deemed to have taken effect from the date of publication of the revised terms and conditions on the promoter’s or Vodacom website.
31. Vodacom may refuse to award the prize if entry procedures or these terms and conditions have not been adhered to or if it detects any irregularities or fraudulent practices. Vodacom is entitled in its entire discretion to reject any participant for any reason.
32. Vodacom reserves the right to cancel, suspend or terminate this promotion, without notice at any time and no liability shall lie against Vodacom, in favour of any participant or third party arising from such cancellation, suspension or termination.

Vodacom Gift Card: Terms and Conditions
1. The Vodacom gift card is a Prepaid Master Card and can only be used to purchase items or pay accounts at stores or service providers that accept Master Cards.
2. The card expires 12 months from date of issue.
3. The card is treated as cash and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
4. The owner of the card can thus be defined as the person in possession of card
5. Once the credit that has been preloaded on the card has been used, the card can be disposed of.
6. The gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash.
7. There are no transactions fees attached to the gift card.
8. The card will be active and ready for use immediately.
9. The balance is stored on the card. Every time it is used, the balance is updated to reflect the amount that is still remaining on the card.

Vodacom Welcome Tones: Terms and Conditions
1. There is an automatic subscription to the Welcome Tones service.
2. Welcome Tones can be purchased at R 5.00 or R 7.50 per Welcome Tone.
3. Each Welcome Tone is valid for a period of 90 days.
4. This Welcome Tone will automatically be renewed every 90 days.
5. The subscriber can cancel the automatic renewal of the Welcome Tone.
6. In addition to the Welcome Tone charge, relevant bearer charges may apply dependent on the channel used to subscribe, purchase and/or manage the subscribers Welcome Tones.
7. Subscribing by means of calling the 1178 IVR is charged at R1.50 per minute or part thereof, subscribing via SMS to 1178 are charged at R0.50 per SMS.

4. Once the subscriber has successfully purchased and activated a Welcome Tone, the subscriber will automatically be entered into the draw for the promotion.
5. 4 Winners will be randomly drawn and each winner will receive a Sony Ericsson AINO.
6. The winners will be drawn at the end of the promotion.
