iPhone 3G Support Activating your iPhone 3G
If your iPhone 3G cellphone was not activated at the Vodacom outlet when purchased, please follow the simple instructions below to activate:
You will need: A Mac/PC/Laptop connected to the internet Your iPhone 3G Your active VODACOM SIM card USB cable (included in packaging)
Step 1: Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ on your MAC/PC/Laptop Internet browser to download iTunes.
Step 2: Select "Download iTunes Free".
Step 3: When prompted to Run or Save the file, select Run and iTunes will be installed on your Mac/PC/Laptop.
Step 4: Ensure that your iPhone 3G has been charged (can be charged for approximately 15 minutes to complete the activation process).
Step 5: Insert your active Vodacom SIM card into your iPhone 3G (refer to manual for instructions), switch the cellphone on and enter your pin.
Step 6: Connect your iPhone 3G with the USB cable, to your Mac/PC/Laptop (that is connected to the internet).
Step 7: iTunes will detect the cellphone and automatically connect to the Apple database.
Step 8: You will be required to provide additional information to complete the activation process.
Your iPhone 3G is NOW ready for use to make and receive calls, send messages and connect to the internet.
Note: If you do not complete the activation process, your iPhone 3G will make emergency calls only. For assistance, call 082 155.
