VoIP
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) enables you to make a 'phone' call through the Internet. Internet calls are considerably cheaper as there is no surcharge beyond the fixed cost that the user already pays for Internet connectivity. Vodacom Business offers its customers Internet-based voice services with a rich set of features, functionality and value-added applications that include VoIP Inter-branch; VoIP Local, VoIP National and VoIP Global; VoIP Cellular, and VoIP Society.
The Vodacom Business VoIP product portfolio consists of the following core services:
VoIP Inter-Branch VoIP Inter-Branch connects a company's various geographically distributed Private Branch Exchanges (PBX's) to the Vodacom MPLS IP network.
VoIP Inter-Branch allows all customers’ internal voice calls (between branches) to be routed seamlessly via the Vodacom MPLS IP network.

VoIP Local & National VoIP Local & National provides Vodacom customers with the ability to make significant cost savings on their local and national calls. VoIP calls are carried nationally - from the Vodacom customer, over the MPLS IP network, to the PSTN.

VoIP Cellular VoIP Cellular provides Vodacom customers with the ability to make significant cost-savings on their calls to cellular destinations via their fixed/wire infrastructure. With VoIP Cellular calls made to cellphone users are routed over the Vodacom MPLS IP network to terminate on the cellular networks. This solution replaces the customer's requirements for a Least Cost Routing device. Using VoIP Cellular, Vodacom customers eliminate the possibility of network congestion and poor Voice quality and latency.

VoIP Global VoIP Global enables Vodacom Business customers to make international calls anywhere in the world, via the Vodacom MPLS IP network. This is accomplished by using the international links to the Vodacom Point-of-Presence in the UK and US.
International interconnections have been negotiated with large VoIP providers globally, thereby offering Vodacom Business customers significant cost-savings, backed by superior voice quality.

VoIP Society With various unique customers connected to the Vodacom MPLS network, Vodacom Business offers its customers the ability to call each other at a reduced tariff.
Calls are routed between one Vodacom Business customer's Virtual Private Network (VPN), over the Vodacom MPLS IP Network to the other pre-determined Vodacom customer's VPN.
